Textile Structures for New Building
The Aim Of The Competition Is To Show Innovative And
Feasible Ideas And Solutions For Building With Textiles Or
Textile-Reinforced Materials
The international TensiNet association and Techtextil,
International Trade Fair for Technical Textiles and
Nonwovens, will hold the 12th Student Competition on
'Textile Structures for New Building'. The aim of the
competition is to show innovative and feasible ideas and
solutions for building with textiles or textile-reinforced
materials. The new 'Textile Exhibition Stand' special award of
Messe Frankfurt will be given for the progressive use of
textiles in stand construction. The awards will be presented at
a ceremony on the eve of the fair, 10 June. Additionally, all
award-winning works will be honoured in a special show
during Techtextil from 11 to 13 June 2013.
The competition targets students of architecture, civil
engineering, product design and related fields. Additionally,
all graduates of these disciplines who completed their courses
of study after 1 January 2012 are invited to present their
projects. The deadline for receipt of registrations is 1
February 2013 whereby the projects must be submitted
during the ninth calendar week (25 February to 1 March
2013).
The Student Competition and the new special award will
promote the exchange of information and ideas between
young academics and the universities, the technical-textile
industry and the building industry as a whole. The academic
supervisor is Prof Werner Sobek, Head of the Institute for
The 'wet' fabric is then dried by means of a
ECO Applicator, the liquor is applied very thinly by steel The Eco Booster HRC can also help to minimise the
Energy Tower and ECO Booster
The 'Energy Tower' is a stand-alone air/air heat
exchanger for heat recovery. Thanks to its design it is a
versatile and flexible retrofit module that enables even
older ranges to benefit from the principle of heat recovery.
The Eco Booster permits a computer-controlled
adaptation of the heat exchanger performance to the
prevailing waste air stream. This optimised efficiency
further reduces the process costs.
The Eco Booster runs fully automatically so that the
operator has no additional duties to carry out.
Energy efficiency remains a challenge
The trendsetting Monforts technology continues to
prove itself and recently left a long lasting impression at
ITMA Asia. Asian producers have also recognised the 'sign
of the times' and the importance of energy efficiency.
Energy efficiency is an important global topic with
textile producers faced with the challenge of coming to
terms with volatile energy and raw material prices and the
ecological demands of retailers and ultimate users.
This is a great boost for the German textile
machinery industry as a trendsetter and technology
leader, and in particular for Monforts.
More efficient technology may cost more, but the
procurement costs account for less than 20% of the life-
cycle costs if you take the total costs for energy into
consideration.
The payback period for the Monforts technology
generally lies in the order of 18 months to two years. Any
anyone who recognises that will decide even more quickly
for energy-efficient and resource-conserving solutions.
DiloSpinnbau and DiloMachines. A major focus of the new
equipment is to improve operation efficiency, web quality
and uniformity with positive effects on all staple fibre
bonding processes. All these elements belong to the “Dilo
– Isomation” process and aim at an even web mass for
reduced fibre consumption as raw material is the biggest
cost factor in textile production.
One machine contributing to this process is the dosing
opener DON manufactured by Dilo Temafa which
provides an intense opening of the fibre material. It
delivers the fibrous material continuously and
homogeneously to the card feeder.
results in a more homogeneous flock mass flow.
also be on the benefits of using the ProDyn technology, a
feature guaranteeing uniformity of the web.
Combined with the A50 needle loom series, this
solution provides a clear competitive edge for end users.
New teXcal trike calender concept for high flexibility
ANDRITZ Küsters has developed a new calender
design especially for the production of delicate, technical
textiles with very high density: The teXcal trike is a 3-roll
calender with S-Roll, Xpro Roll and heated steel roll in a
triangular roll arrangement. This configuration allows
extremely flexible production by using one or two nips.
Both nips are individually adjustable without influencing
the other nip’s deflection characteristics. In comparison to
standard 3-roll calenders with vertical roll arrangement,
the teXcal trike reduces seam loss to a minimum. With
regard to the continuously increasing process
requirements in the production of technical textiles, the
proven deflection control of the S-Roll is combined with
additional zone control in the Xpro Roll.
A state-of-the-art teXcal trike calender (2,000 mm surface
width) will be installed at the ANDRITZ Küsters Technical
Center at the end of 2012
Fields of application include sailcloth, woven
monofilament/multifilament fabrics, filters, and
parachute silk. In order to optimize material properties,
the teXcal trike achieves absolute flatness, air
permeability, and defined thickness profiles.
