Neve has announced the release
of its Summing Package that pairs
the 8816 hand-wired 16-channel
summing mixer (including custom
Carnhill transformers on the stereo
mix bus) with the 8804 Fader Pack
for long-throw fader control. The
partnership is designed to give
computer-based studios access
to classic Neve analogue mix bus
topology. Also included is Neve’s
Total Recall software, table top legs

ESI Audio has recently released
the SW10K eXperience subwoofer
that combines perfectly with the
company’s range of studio
monitors. The ten-inch powered
unit has an adjustable subwoofer
crossover frequency of 50Hz-250Hz
with a separate satellite output
crossover frequency of the same
range, plus an amplifier power of
100W at 100Hz. The unit is suitable
for augmenting 2.1 sound systems
to 5.1/7.1 surround sound
productions.

Waves H-Comp and H-Delay
Waves Audio has released
H-Comp and H-Delay
from its new Hybrid Line
of plug-ins. The Hybrid
tag underlines the series
philosophy of fusing the
colour and character
of classic analogue
hardware processors
with the features and
flexibility of digital plugins.
The H-Comp Hybrid
Compressor combines the
modelled behaviour of
transformers, tubes, and
transistors with the speed
and precision provided by
digital technology. Features
include wet/dry mix option for easy parallel compression, analogue
modelled release behaviour, transient pass-through control, BPM sync
release function, multiple analogue character modes, output limiter/
clipper modes, and external sidechain support. The H-Delay Hybrid
Delay also cements vintage sound with modern technology and offers
slap-back echo, ping-pong delay, tempo-sync with modulation, filtering,
flanging, and phasing amongst others. Other notable features include
delay time of up to 3500 ms (TDM), variable pitch delay time behaviour,
multiple analogue character modes, infinite feedback support,
LFO-controlled pitch modulation, LoFi mode, and tap plus
BPM synchronisation.

NEW INITIATIVE
Miloco
Market
Place
Miloco has kickstarted
a new
venture called
the Market Place.
Smaller studios,
programming
suites, and
writing rooms
occupied on a long-term basis by various producers, engineers, and
artists can now be hired for an affordable price when not being used
by their owners. Available spaces include stand-alone rooms and small
studios with booths and live areas, all equipped with the gear their
respective owners have kitted them out with. Most rooms come with
Logic or Pro Tools LE systems, and a basic HD rig can be hired on top
should it be required. Four spaces are currently available. Joel’s Place in
Hornsey boasts Neve, Pro Tools LE, and Logic equipment, plus an airconditioned
control room and overdub booth. Z-Noise and Suite 4, also
in Hornsey, feature air-conditioning and good recording areas, while The
Sandpit, SE1, offers a day-lit control room and booth.
