desirable in popular music. The second is
a shelf fi lter that allows the engineer to
alter the frequencies below 150Hz.
High frequencies can also be adjusted
by two different controls. The fi rst alters the
high frequency volume (-2dB to +2dB), while
the second is a shelf fi lter for frequencies
above 6kHz. Both the high and low shelf
fi lters can raise or lower ±4dB progressively
within their frequency band.
A7: The Best-Reviewed Monitor Worldwide?
The A7 is an active two way nearfi eld
monitor matching the ART tweeter with a
state of the art 6.5“ woofer that introduces
a new cone material (Rohacell/carbon
fi bre) which combines high rigidity and high
internal damping with low weight, resulting
in an extremely accurate monitor with
all the clarity, detail, and spectacular
imaging traditionally associated with the
ADAM name.
The A7 is powered by two 50W amplifi ers
(one per driver). The front panel sports both
a power switch and volume control, while
the rear panel houses controls for tweeter
level and two shelving fi lters for high and
low frequencies.
The unit also features both balanced
(XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) input
connectors, allowing it to be used in almost
any audio application.
Well over two dozen different magazines
have reviewed the multiple award-winning
A7 and every single review was nothing but
a paean of praise. Here is only one example:
“With their precise and clear sound, the
A7s are hard to beat as stereo or surround
monitors for small rooms.“ (Mix, 01/08).
S3X-H: The Legend Continues
The S3A is one of ADAM’s most famous
models and is found in many of the most
prestigious recording studios all over the
world. Tape Op applauded: “The S3A is
the best nearfi eld or midfi eld monitor that
I have ever heard.” The successor of this
monitor-legend is the S3X-H, a monitor
second to none within its size and
price point.
ADAM S3X-H
Unlike the S3A, the new X-model
incorporates a 4” HexaCone-midrange
as part of the redesigned construction
to further improve the musically most
important midrange. This new design
provides more detail with improved
radiation characteristics, while presenting
a musically coherent sound.
To produce deep, tight bass, both
woofers now work within the same
frequency range and radiate symmetrically.
This allows for a problem free installation
in any multi-channel application.
S7A Mk2: The Reference
With the S7A Mk2 we proudly present a
unique combination of ADAM’s proprietary
transducer technology, modern PWM
amplifi er design, a highly sophisticated
control panel, and an advanced d‘Appolito
speaker alignment, resulting in a main
monitor meant to analyse the details of
every kind of music to a degree not known
so far. It features a whopping 1500W of
onboard power (rms), reaching peaks of
about 128dB (1m), two 15” subwoofers,
two 9” HexaCone-midwoofers, two ART
midrange units, and one ART tweeter.
The S7A Mk2 is the benchmark of what
is possible in state of the art full range
active professional monitoring, today.
It incorporates all of the ADAM inventions
and designs, as well as the best materials
available. This fusion of power and capacity
with precision and accuracy results in
unparalleled performance in professional
monitoring.
