Etest is an Unique
gradient technique for MIC determination of
antimicrobial agents. Essentially, 15 dilutions of an
antibiotic have been reformatted as a precise &
predefined concentration gradient on a plastic strip using
innovative dry chemistry technology. This gradient can
be used to quantify the susceptibility of fastidious & and
non-fastidious organism with more than 100 different
agents.

Innovative Etest Package
A new and patented Etest
Storage specification on : Foil pouch
®
package has been developed
to facilitate Etest use with the
BiotoolsTM instrument line. This
package has enhanced stability
and most Etest items can be
stored in controlled room
temperature (CRT) (18-22°C) or
the refrigerator (4-8°C). When
stored in the refrigerator, time
to reach room temperature
before opening the package or
storage box is substantially
shortened, saving valuable
laboratory time. When correctly used, this package offers increased
efficiency, ergonomics and facilitates daily use of Etest, especially for
routine MIC testing of critical specimens.
The package consists of a foam cartridge with Etest strips snugly stacked
within the aperture. Etest strips can be removed directly from the package
using the manual Etest Applicator, the vacuum pen Nema C88TM or the
fully automated dispenser Simplex C76TM .
