Be ready to respond! The emergency drug kit is a necessary, “must have” part of every dental office! The ADA Council of
Scientific Affairs states that ALL dental offices should maintain at least the basic recommended emergency equipment and
drugs. Package inserts of local anesthetics clearly state that dental practitioners should have the proper equipment and
resuscitative drugs before administering any local anesthetic, but are you prepared?
Medical Emergencies in the Dental Office
By Stanley Malamed, DDS, Professor and Chair, Section of Anesthesia and Medicine,
University of Southern California School of Dentistry, Los Angeles, CA
This full-color text prepares dental professionals to promptly recognize and manage
medical emergencies that may occur in the dental office. It details how to anticipate
emergencies and what resources must be on hand to deal effectively with these situations.
The book is arranged in eight sections concentrating on topics such as prevention of
emergencies through patient evaluation and specific types of more common emergencies
that practitioners may encounter.
Select ® AED Plus ® by Zoll Medical
When a cardiac arrest occurs, the fact is that only half of the victims
will need a shock. The other half requires CPR. The AED Plus features
Real CPR Help , a tool that is able to actually see what you are doing
and provide feedback to help you do it well. Audio and visual prompts
help you rescue with confidence and clarity unmatched by any other
AED.
• Not pushing hard enough? It will tell you when to push harder.
• Pushing hard enough? It will say, “Good compression.”
• Not pushing fast enough? A metronome will lead you to the
right rate. It will even show you the depth of each compression,
in real time.
• Not yet started? The AED Plus will tell you again to get started.
• Compressions stopped? It will tell you to continue.
Ordinary AEDs require that the rescuer use two confusing electrodes.
ZOLL’s Full-Rescue AED features CPR-D•padz , a one-piece,
pre-connected pair of electrodes with Real CPR help. By using CPR
hand placement as the landmark, it is easy to place the CPR-D•padz on the victim quickly. The CPR-D•padz also
last five years - the longest shelf life of any electrodes sold today.
Consumer Batteries for Convenience and Saving - The AED Plus ® is the only AED to use inexpensive, consumer
lithium batteries that are easy to replace and last five years in stand-by mode.
• AED PLUS ® is backed by a 5 year warranty
• AED PLUS ® comes complete with 1 set of CPR-D•padz , 1 set of lithium batteries and wall bracket
