‘Argentea’- A silver-green form of the species.<br />

‘Blue Arrow’- Good upright grower with blue-green foliage.<br />

‘Blue Creeper’- Low spreading growth habit. 6-8’ wide <strong>and</strong> only 2 foot high. Good<br />

bright blue foliage. Place in the “Alpine Zone” to brighten up the area year around.<br />

‘Blue Heaven’- Great blue foliage <strong>and</strong> upright growth habit. Can get up to 25’ (Dirr,<br />

1978).<br />

‘Cologreen’- Dark green foliage <strong>and</strong> upright growth to 25-30’<br />

‘Columnaris’- A upright grower that tend to be much taller than wider.<br />

‘Gray Gleam’- Nice silver gray foliage <strong>and</strong> slow growth to 15-20’.<br />

‘Green Ice’- Broad upright grower with ice-green new growth.<br />

‘Horizontalis’- Nice outward spreading branches of silver-blue adorn this upright<br />

grower.<br />

‘Medora’- Slender upright form with blue-green foliage.<br />

‘Moonglow’- Grows upright <strong>and</strong> has bright silver-green foliage. Can get up to 20’<br />

(Kelly, 1995).<br />

‘Pathfinder’- Nice bluish gray foliage on an upright pyramidal tree. Grows to 20-30’.<br />

‘Sky Rocket’- One of the narrowest growth habits of the species. Has bluish-green<br />

foliage. A 15’ plant usually not more than 2’ wide (Dirr, 1978).<br />

‘Sparkling Rocket’<br />

‘Tabletop’- Grows wider than taller. 6’ high <strong>and</strong> 8’ wide with silver-gray foliage.<br />

‘Tolleson’s Blue Weeping’- Nice arching branches of silver-blue droop downward.<br />

Interesting form.<br />

‘Variegata’- Some of the growth is white <strong>and</strong> spread out on the shrub.<br />

‘Viridiflora’- Bright green foliage that is an upright grower.<br />

‘Wichita Blue’- Holds a good blue-green color on the foliage. A conical upright grower.<br />

Larix lyalli- One of our high alpine larches. Not often seen in cultivation <strong>and</strong> slow growing.<br />

Whorls of soft green needles come out in spring then followed by bright yellow fall color before<br />

the needles drop (Kruckenberg, 1992). Needs an exposed site in full sun. Place in “Forested<br />

Ridge” area.
