I wish to acknowledge two
dear ladies at Camp Lejeune
Commissary, N.C.: cashier
Mary Woods, and bagger No.
87, Cindy Barrows. On a recent
shopping trip, I was checking
out and felt a little breathless.
I asked Mary if I could stand
for a moment and rest. She

immediately took over and
helped me to a chair. Then Cindy
began helping, too. My daughter
soon came over, but these ladies
assured her they had everything
under control so she could go
ahead and check out her groceries
as well as mine. They said she
could go get her car and leave all
of our groceries, and then they
would see that the groceries were
sent out front for pickup. My Cindy Barrows
daughter was so appreciative of
these ladies, and of course, so was I. Thank you so
much for your attention.

Fort McCoy marvels
After years of shopping at the old Fort McCoy
Commissary, Wis., I was shocked at the size of the
new commissary. At first I thought there wasn’t going
to be much to choose from because of limited space.
I was wrong. I was truly amazed at the variety and
quality available. Prices – what can I say – they’re
amazing. I like to have a steak once in a while but
cannot afford the $8 to $10 dollar price tag. But
for just over $2 for a large steak that day, nobody
anywhere can beat that. The commissary staff is the
most friendly, courteous, helpful and professional
that I’ve ever encountered in my 59 years. They are to
be commended for a job well done.

exceptional service
I would like to recognize
exceptional service by
Bridgett Goins in the
produce department at
McConnell Commissary,
Kan. My daughter is a teacher
in a very poor part of Wichita,
so I bake Christmas cookies
Bridgett Goins for her students, and I bring
fruit as well. Most of these
children get a free lunch at school, and meals are
sent home for them on the weekends, so any fresh
food they get is greatly appreciated. Bridgett helped
me pick excellent fruit, and she boxed it up for me
and even took it to the register. I’m very thankful for
her wonderful service. It made my day as well as the
kids’! Thank you.

personality plus. She was upbeat,
fun and even bagged our groceries
since it was so busy. She took

I would like to let you know the outstanding job the
employees are doing at Norfolk Commissary, Va.
The commissary is always clean, neat and orderly.
When I ask an employee where something is, they
go out of their way to help me. I know it takes a lot
of hard work to keep this big commissary up and
running, but the men and women are very good
at this. Please let them know they are doing a very
good job.

Sandra Harrell, store associate
at Little Creek Commissary,
Va., is one of the nicest and most
accommodating people. If a
produce item isn’t stocked yet, she
will get some for you. When she
is busy putting out produce, she
takes time to get what you want,
and I’m so appreciative. She is a
hard worker and well-liked. She is
an asset for the commissary.
