Sugar Grove’s best
Sugar Grove Commissary, W.Va., has excellent
quality and display of fresh foods, poultry and
sandwich meats. It has helpful and very pleasant
personnel. Considering the modest size of the base,
displays are adequate in size and of a reasonable
variety – the best we’ve seen in a military facility.

I was having a difficult time managing my shopping
at Fort Campbell Commissary, Ky., because I had
40 decavision!Spring 2008
total hip replacement surgery
six weeks ago. My daughter
helped unload the groceries at
checkout, and I was moving
slowly using my walker. I
was using a debit card for the
first time and wasn’t doing it
right. The student sales store
checker, Marck Parris,
was patient and polite, and
Marck Parris he fixed my mistakes. What
a lifesaver. What impressed
me most was how busy the store was, since it was
quitting time and everyone was rushing for dinner
items. Marck was so polite and didn’t even bat an
eye in helping me – it was like he was helping his
mom and did it all the time. I know I’m the first
to complain when I don’t like something, so it was
important for me to speak up about something I
liked. This was my first shopping excursion since
months before surgery, and I really needed it to be
positive. Thanks to such a conscientious employee.

The minute I went into cashier
Renée Crawford’s line at
Keesler Commissary, Miss.,
she greeted me with a smile that
made me feel welcome. I am a
volunteer at the base hospital,
and I don’t work with anyone
as nice as she was. The minute
Renée Crawford I went into her line, she asked
me if I had everything I needed
for Thanksgiving, and I told her I didn’t, because I
could not find a few things. Twice she went out of her
way and got them for me. It made my Thanksgiving
dinner, especially since my son was coming home
from overseas. Please thank her again for us. I enjoy
shopping there to see her smiling face – I love that
cashier. What a pleasure!
