It had surpassed $8 million in monthly sales in previous years – falling about $300,000 shy of $9 million in December 2006 – and in 2007 had a few $8 millionplus sales months leading up to December, which is the best month to set a sales record because it’s normally the highest sales month. “All indicators were that we could do it, but this goal couldn’t have been accomplished without a team effort, and that’s what we had,” Collins said. “Our team includes our employees, our industry partners, contractors, baggers and, of course, our customers who continued to show their appreciation for the commissary benefit by shopping here and making us DeCA’s top-selling store.” “The sales record is quite an accomplishment and it comes at a time when sales agency-wide are up for Left, recipient Carissa Smith, 7, and her mother, Kimberly Smith, enjoy meeting a Milk-Bone “spokesdog” after an assistance dog presentation ceremony at Fort Belvoir Commissary, Va., in December.
