With regard to teaching meaning of the words, the teacher plays the role of a person snoring<br />

and says "I am snoring.' Then teacher asks them 'Do you snore?' 'Does anybody snore in<br />

your family?'<br />

To teach the meaning of 'cliff', s/he shows the picture of a cliff and describes it. In the case of<br />

nap, s/he also takes part of a person napping and says 'I am napping.' S/he says,' Sometimes<br />

you also nap in the class, don't you?'<br />

As far as the teaching of meaning of the words ' detest' and envelope is concerned, the<br />

teacher shows the real envelope and says' It's an envelope.' Then teacher writes the following<br />

words on the board.<br />

Then the teacher asks the students, ' Can you say the meaning of the words?' If they are<br />

unable to say, s/he will clarify the meanings of the words one by one.<br />

Evaluation<br />

The teacher shows the word card at a time and asks some students to pronounce the word as<br />

in the card.<br />

S/he asks the following questions to some students.<br />

� Is cliff made of soil?<br />

� Where can we see cliff?<br />

� Why do you use envelope?<br />

� Do you detest your father?<br />

� Do you detest smoking?<br />

� What do you mean by nap?<br />

� When does a man snore?<br />

Homework:<br />

Make at least five sentences using the words: detest, nap, snore, envelope and cliff.<br />

Reflection:<br />

In this, the teacher tries to find out the strengths of his/her lesson delivered and things to be<br />

improvement in further lessons.<br />
