are not included in a bundled payment to the facility that
serves as the originating site.
The regulations relating to the Medicare telehealth
provisions under section 1834(m) of the Act are at §410.78,
which specifies the conditions of payment for telehealth
services, and §414.65, which specifies the payment rules

As noted previously, the telehealth originating site
facility fee is a separately billable Part B payment that
is payable outside of any other payment methodology. Renal
Dialysis Centers, Community Mental Health Centers, and SNFs
are all paid based under different payment systems.
Renal Dialysis Centers
Section 149 of the MIPPA added hospital-based or
CAH-based renal dialysis centers (including satellites) to
the list of originating sites for Medicare telehealth
