applicability of the measures group. Therefore, the<br />

specifications and instructions for measures groups will be<br />

provided separately from the specifications and<br />

instructions for the individual 2009 PQRI measures. We<br />

will post the detailed specifications and specific<br />

instructions for reporting measures groups on the PQRI<br />

section of the <strong>CMS</strong> Web site at http://www.cms.hhs.gov/pqri<br />

by no later than December 31, 2008.<br />

e. Uses of PQRI Information<br />

i. Overview and Summary<br />

In the CY 2009 PFS proposed rule (73 FR 38574 through<br />

38575) we indicated that we are contemplating a “Physician<br />

Compare” Web site similar to other Web pages we currently<br />

have at http://www.medicare.gov for the public reporting of<br />

quality data for hospitals (Hospital Compare), dialysis<br />

facilities (Dialysis Facility Compare), nursing homes<br />

(Nursing Home Compare) and home health facilities (Home<br />

Health Compare) by enhancing the information found on the<br />

Physician and Other Healthcare Professional Directory (see<br />

http://www.medicare.gov/Physician/Home.asp?bhcp=1) to<br />

include information about the quality of care and value for<br />

services provided by professionals to Medicare<br />
