reporting.
As previously mentioned in this final rule, we are not
finalizing the proposed measure, Use of Imaging Studies in
Low Back Pain, in the final 2009 PQRI quality measures set
listed in Table 16 based on comments received.
In addition, we are not finalizing the following
proposed NQF-endorsed measure in the final 2009 PQRI
measures because its adaptation to the PQRI format was
subsequently found to be not feasible: Selection of
Antibiotic Administration for Cardiac Surgery Patients.
Substantive components of this measure are duplicative of
Measure # 21 Perioperative Care: Selection of Prophylactic
Antibiotic - First OR Second Generation Cephalosporin,
which is listed in Table 15.
As stated above, there are 8 measures listed in
Table 16 that can be reported only via a registry for the
2009 PQRI and, therefore, are not reportable via claims-
based reporting.
