is that the data be reported on PQRI measures. The PPC is<br />

a proprietary recognition program that does not utilize<br />

PQRI Measures #124 or #125.<br />

Comment: One commenter requested clarification of a<br />

statement made in the proposed rule regarding the 2008 PQRI<br />

Measure #4 Screening for Future Fall Risk not proposed for<br />

2009. <strong>This</strong> commenter noted that the measure developer did<br />

not make a request to retire this measure from PQRI nor was<br />

the measure replaced by a new AQA-adopted or NQF-endorsed<br />

measure proposed for 2009 as stated in the CY 2009 PFS<br />

proposed rule (73 FR 38567). The commenter advocated for<br />

Measure #4 Screening for Future Fall Risk to remain<br />

available for the 2009 PQRI. Another commenter supported<br />

the removal of Measure #4 Screening for Future Fall Risk as<br />

a result of two new substantially similar fall measures<br />

proposed for 2009.<br />

Response: The commenter was correct in noting that<br />

the proposed rule incorrectly stated that the 2008 PQRI<br />

Measure #4 Screening for Future Fall Risk not proposed for<br />

2009 was retired and intended to be replaced by new AQA-<br />

adopted or NQF-endorsed measures proposed for 2009.<br />

However, we are not including Measure #4 Screening for<br />

Future Fall Risk in the final set of 2009 PQRI quality<br />
