Infection by ascochyta blight affects growth and develoment of plants adversely.
What is their effect on yield and how were losses assessed?
K.B. Singh
Ascochyta blight, in epiphytotic conditions, can cause total yield loss. The
yield loss is estimated by growing a set of genotypes under diseased and
disease.free conditions. In diseased plots the epiphytotic conditons are artificially
created, whereas in the disease-free plots, the crop is protected through
fungicide. The yield loss is estimated by subtracting the yield obtained in
diseased plot from that obtained in diesease-free plot.
