CUSTOM-MADE FASTER WORK BOATS. FASTER-ARBEITSBOOTE. MAßGESCHNEIDERT.
We fabricate aluminium work boats in sizes 4–17 m for rescue operations, patrolling,
freighting and passenger transportation. We can design boats for numerous
purposes.
Our boats are designed to meet the customer’s specific needs. Boats are designed,
built and equipped according to customer requirements. We can base
the boat’s design on a previous model or come up with a totally new solution.
We have a wide range of customers: rescue services, Customs, the police, rescue
units, the Finnish Forest and Park Service as well as private persons. They all
need the best possible equipment to carry out their valuable work. Our customers
appreciate practicality and functional details. We make durable work boats
with good manoeuvrability.
Juha Snell built the first Faster boat in 1978. Since then we have built over 350
Faster work boats. Thanks to our solid track record and years of experience, we
can guarantee each customer the satisfaction of getting a boat perfectly suited
for the job.
Faster boats are designed and built at the Juha Snell Oy factory in Kellokoski in
Tuusula, Finland. The boats are designed by using 3D modelling and calculator
software. We also use the latest technology in production. The plates are shaped
accurately with a laser cutting machine and edged with a CNC machine.
We would like our customers to view the boat at least once during the building
process.
New boats are test driven and checked before delivery. By testing we ensure that
the boat is functioning properly.
Wir fertigen Arbeitsboote aus Aluminium in der Größenklasse von 4 - 17 m für
Rettungs-, Patrouillen-, Warentransport und Personenbeförderungszwecke an.
Wir stellen die Boote für verschiedene Anwendungszwecke individuell her.
Unsere Boote werden maßgeschneidert nach Kundenwunsch gebaut. Sie werden
nach den Anforderungen des Kunden geplant, angefertigt und ausgestattet.
Die Boote basieren auf bewährten Modellen oder auf einer vollkommen neue
Lösung.
Zu unserer Kunden gehören Feuerwehr, Zoll, Polizei, Forstämter, Rettungsorganisationen,
Behörden und private Personen. All unsere Kunden leisten eine
wichtige Arbeit und benötigen dafür die bestmögliche Ausrüstung. Unsere Kunden
schätzen die praktische Ausführung und die funktionelle Ausstattung unserer
Boote. Alle Kunden bekommen ein robustes Boot mit guten Fahreigenschaften.
Herr Juha Snell baute das erste Faster-Boot im Jahre 1978. Danach sind mehr
als 350 Faster-Arbeitsboote gebaut worden. Mit dieser Erfahrung können wir
garantieren, dass der Kunde für seinen Zweck ein bestens geeignetes Boot bekommt
und damit zufrieden ist.
Die Boote werden im Werk der Firma Juha Snell Oy in der finnischen Ortschaft
Kellokoski in Tuusula geplant und gebaut. Die Boote werden mittels 3D-Modellierungs-
und Berechnungsprogramme geplant. Wir verwenden die neueste
Technologie auch in der Produktion: Die Blechteile werden genau mit einem
Laserschneider in Form geschnitten und mit einer CNC-gesteuerten Maschine
abgerundet.
Wir hoffen, dass der Kunde bei uns im Werk wenigstens einmal während der
Bauphase vorbeischaut um das Vorankommen des Projektes begutachten zu
können.
Die neuen Boote werden vor der Lieferung an den Kunden Probe gefahren und
getestet. Beim Testen versichern wir uns, dass alles so funktioniert, wie es sein
sollte, bevor das Boot an den Kunden abgegeben wird.

FEATURES OF FASTER WORK BOATS.
Cockpit and interior
The cockpit of a Faster boat is highly ergonomic. What’s more, visibility from
the cockpit is good. Heating and ventilation are set up to prevent the windows
from fogging up. Cockpits are furnished to meet the customer’s needs. For
example, a boat can include a cabin, a cuddy and a toilet.

Das Cockpit eines Faster-Bootes hat eine gute Ergonomie und Sicht nach außen.
Die Heizung und Lüftung sind so eingebaut, dass die Scheiben nicht beschlagen.
Die Cockpits werden nach Kundenbedarf ausgestattet. Einige Boote haben z. B.
eine Schlafkabine, eine Pantry-Küche und ein WC.

Benchboard
A boat with a benchboard has a spacious deck. The benchboard can be provided
with radios, meters and navigators depending on the customer’s needs. A larger
benchboard can also be equipped with roofing and a tarpaulin to protect the
benchboard from sun and rain.
Steuerpult
Die Boote mit einem Steuerpult verfügen über viel freien Raum an Bord. In
unseren Steuerpulten gibt es viel Montageplatz für die erforderlichen Funkgeräte,
Mess- und Navigationsgeräte. Ein größeres Steuerpult kann auch mit einem
Dach und mit einer Plane ausgestattet werden, die gegen Sonne und Regen
schützen.

Bow hatch
A bow hatch is necessary when the boat is used for transporting goods or an
ATV. A bow hatch also makes it easier for passengers to get in and out of the
boat, especially in natural harbours. A bow hatch is practical for divers and rescuers
who need to have access close to the water level. We recommend the bow
hatch for your boat, too.
Bugklappe
Eine Bugklappe ist notwendig, wenn Gegenstände und Fahrzeuge transportiert
werden. Eine Bugklappe erleichtert auch die Beweglichkeit der Fahrgäste - besonders
bei Anlandungen. Eine Bugklappe ist auch praktisch für Taucher und
Retter, die möglichst nah an die Wasseroberfläche gelangen müssen. Auch für
Ihr Boot empfehlen wir eine Bugklappe.
Slide rail system
A Faster boat can be equipped with slide rails on the sides of the deck. They
are useful for hanging storage boxes, folding chairs, oxygen bottles and other
equipment. Equipment is secured to the rail with quick fasteners to ensure easy
attaching and detaching.
Gleitschienensystem
An den Seiten eines Faster-Bootdeckes können Gleitschienen montiert werden,
an denen Aufbewahrungsboxen, Klappsitze, Taucherflaschen und sonstige Ge-
räte angebracht werden können. Die Ausstattung wird mit einer Schnellbefestigung
an die Schiene fixiert, so dass die Plätze leicht austauschbar sind.
Crane
A Faster work boat can also be equipped with a crane on the deck to make moving
heavy loads easier. A crane is most suitable for larger boats and catamarans
with good stability.
Kran
Das Faster-Arbeitsboot kann mit einem Deckskran ausgestattet werden, womit
man leicht große Lasten heben kann. Der Kran eignet sich am besten für größere
Boote und Katamarane, die über eine gute Stabilität verfügen.

Propulsion system
Faster work boats are equipped with a propulsion system according to the intended
use of the boat.
An outboard motor is light and does not require much space. This makes the
deck more spacious and gives the boat a better load carrying capacity. A boat
with an outboard motor has a shallow draught if the engines are brought up
when coming ashore.
An inboard motor does not require much space and a worktop can be built on
the water jet.
A boat equipped with a water jet has a shallow draught. Water jets are powered
with a diesel engine. A worktop can also be built on the water jet. A boat with
two water jets has very good manoeuvrability in narrow spaces, such as ports.
Antriebssysteme
Faster-Arbeitsboote werden mit einem Antriebssystem ausgestattet, das am besten
zum Anwendungszweck passt.
Ein Außenbordmotor ist leicht und nimmt kein Platz im Boot weg. Dies bedeutet
mehr Platz auf dem Deck für den Benutzer und eine höhere Lasttragfähigkeit.
Das Außenbordmotorboot hat auch einen niedrigen Tiefgang. Falls erforderlich,
kann der Motor beim Stranden angehoben werden. Der Innenbordmotor
nimmt nur wenig Platz im Boot ein und es ist möglich, auf der Arbeitsplattform
eine Schleppeinrichtung aufzubauen.
Ein Boot, ausgestattet mit einem Wasserstrahlantrieb, hat einen niedrigen Tiefgang,
der Antrieb erfolgt über einen Dieselmotor. Über dem Wasserstrahlantrieb
kann eine Arbeitsplattform montiert werden. Ein Boot, das über zwei
Wasserstrahlantriebe verfügt, hat sehr gute Steuerungseigenschaften in engen
Stellen, wie z.b. in Häfen.

Hull types
Each Faster work boat is built using the hull type most suited for the boat’s intended
use. The picture shows the different hull types. The hull type V (1) gives a
boat excellent manoeuvrability when driving on rough sea and when cornering.
A boat with the hull type V can also be built with a bow hatch (3). A boat with
the catamaran type hull (2) also has excellent manoeuvrability. In addition, it is
very stable, which makes working on deck easy and enables safe freighting of
heavy loads. A catamaran is equipped with two engines, making the boat easier
to handle in port and ensuring the boat’s function at sea. A boat with the cathedral
type hull (4) is not as easy to manoeuvre as a catamaran. The cathedral hull
gives a slow boat good stability.
Rumpftypen
Jedes Faster- Arbeitsboot wird mit der Rumpfform gebaut, die für den beabsichtigten
Gebrauch am besten geeignet ist. Die Abbildung zeigt verschiedene
Rumpftypen. Ein „V“ Rumpf (1) gibt einem Boot ausgezeichnete Manövereigenschaften
und Rauwassertauglichkeit. Auch Boote mit „V“ Rumpf können
mit einer Bugklappe ausgestattet werden (3). Boote mit Katamaranrumpf (2)
verfügen über ausgezeichnete Manövereigenschaften und sind besonders seitenstabil.
Katamarane eigenen sich besonders als Arbeitsplattform und zum
Transport großer Lasten, Ihre schlanken Einzelrümpfe verleihen dem Boot eine
gute Rauwassertauglichkeit. Unsere Katamaranboote verfügen immer über zwei
Antriebe und verleihen dem Boot somit über sehr gute Steuereigenschaften und
zusätzliche Redundanz. Der Semikatamaranrumpf (4) ist für langsamere Boote
ohne großen Seegang geeignet, Boote mit dieser Rumpfform verfügen über eine
sehr gute Seiten- und Kursstabilität. Unsere Boote mit dieser Rumpfform wer-
den mit einem Antrieb ausgestattet.

Aluminium
All Faster work boats are made of aluminium. It is the most suitable material for
a work boat. Aluminium is durable and rust-free and it does not absorb water.
A plain unpainted aluminium boat is also easy to take care of and looks good
for a long time.

Alle Faster-Arbeitsboote werden aus Aluminium gebaut, weil Aluminium das
beste Materialfür ein Arbeitsboot ist. Aluminium ist solide, leicht, es rostet nicht
und es zieht kein Wasser. Ein Aluminiumboot ist pflegeleicht und verfügt über
eine lange Lebensdauer.
Product approval
Boats are delivered with a CE marking or they are approved according to the
standard for work boats of the Finnish Maritime Administration. Inspection is
carried out by an external inspector authorised by the Finnish Maritime Administration.
The CE marking is best suitable for smaller work boats. The standard
for work boats is based on the same standards as the CE marking, but the requirements
have been increased.
Zulassungen und Zertifikate
Die Boote werden CE-geprüft oder mit einer Prüfung nach Kundenvorgabe geliefert.
Die Prüfungen werden von einem autorisierten, externen Prüfer durchgeführt.
Das CE-Zertifikat ist für sehr kleine Boote geeignet. Unsere Feuerwehr-
und Rettungsboote entsprechen der DIN 14961.
