Stadt Bielefeld. 1989-1995 Leiter der Abteilung Planung des Senators für Wirtschaft des<br />
Landes <strong>Bremen</strong> und Leiter des Bremer Ausschuss für Wirtschaftsforschung (BAW) –<br />
Wirtschaftsforschungs-Institut des Landes <strong>Bremen</strong>. Seit 1995 Professor für Volkswirtschaftslehre<br />
an der <strong>Universität</strong> <strong>Bremen</strong>. Seit 2008 Adjunct Professor, University of<br />

1. Evolutorische Prozesse und Modelle der Institutionen-Entstehung („institutional emergence“)<br />
sowie Größenbedingungen institutioneller Koordination („meso economics“).<br />
2. Wirtschaftspolitische Implikationen institutioneller Koordination („interactive economic<br />
policy“).<br />
3. Industrielle und regionale Anwendungen evolutorischer Prozesse und institutioneller<br />
Koordination: Innovationsfähigkeit industrieller Wertschöpfungsketten und Netzwerke<br />
sowie lokaler Cluster.<br />
4. Anwendung spieltheoretischer Ansätze auf Koordinations-, Dilemma- und Kollektivgutprobleme,<br />
z. B. der Effekte institutioneller Arrangements auf die (nationale) ökonomische<br />
Performanz („comparative institutions“) sowie Anwendungen auf Innovationsund<br />
Informationsprozesse, z. B. Open- vs. Closed-Source Regimes.<br />
