Während im heutigen Quartier die Repräsentanz der
Ufer angesichts der vielfältigen und prächtigen Fassaden
wahrgenommen wird, entwickelt sich das neue Casino
mit einer gezielten kompakten Besetzung zu einem städtebaulichen
Raum an der Uferfront. Die horizontale
Differenzierung des Volumens in drei Teilbereiche –
Veranstaltungssaal im Untergeschoss, das Casino im Kernbereich
und eine umlaufende Hotelschicht – ermöglicht
die Entwicklung spannender räumlicher Abfolgen und
Erschliessungswege. Die Innenräume erhalten durch
die Tragstruktur und unregelmässig angeordneten Lichthöfe
einen prägnanten und unverkennbaren Ausdruck.

At present, the representation of the lakefront is understood
within this neighborhood by virtue of the grandiose
facades along its edge; the new casino, on the other
hand, uses its directed, compact organization to develop
an urban square at the new lakefront. The horizontal
differentiation of the volume into three parts – the multipurpose
hall underground, the casino in the center
and a surrounding hotel layer – enables the development
of exciting spatial sequences and circulation patterns. The
interior receives a strong and unmistakable expression
through the deceitful structure and the irregularly arranged
light courts.
