Wahlfächer
Die Professur versteht sich als Moderator zwischen den am
Bau Beteiligten und den Studierenden. Die aktive Mitarbeit
der Studenten steht im Vordergrund der Veranstaltungen,
die im Hörsaal und auch auf der Baustelle vor
Ort (Bauprozess: Ausführung) stattfinden. Die Vorlesungen
sind als Workshop und Diskussionsforum zu verstehen.
– Bauprozess – Ausführung: Das Wahlfach thematisiert den
Bauprozess anhand aktueller und architektonisch relevanter
Beispiele. Dabei bilden Baustellenbesuche mit
eingehender Analyse und Diskussion der Vorgänge
den Hauptschwerpunkt des Wahlfachs.
– Bauprozess – Organisation: Anhand eines Semesterthemas
werden die organisatorischen Aufgaben in Planung
und Ausführung dargestellt. Das Verständnis der organisatorischen
Zusammenhänge des Bauprozesses steht
im Mittelpunkt des Wahlfachs. Grundlagen, Tendenzen
und Terminologien werden durch theoretische Modelle
und Fallbeispiele ergänzt.

– Bauprozess –Ökonomie: Neben der Grundlagenvermittlung
bauökonomischer Überlegungen spielt die Fallstudie
im Unterricht eine wesentliche Rolle. Dabei werden die
wirtschaftlichen Belange des Bauens untersucht und
Entscheidungssituationen simuliert. Die erarbeiteten Daten
und ökonomischen Zusammenhänge führen zu einer
baulichen Empfehlung des untersuchten Projekts.
E+I: Entwurf mit integrierten Disziplinen
Künftig werden integrierte Entwürfe Bestandteil des
Bachelor- und Master-Studiengangs sein. Dabei werden die
Entwurfsklassen von weiteren Professuren des d-arch
begleitet. Mit den Themen «Vom Prototyp zur Serie» und
«Eigene Initiativen» wurden zusammen mit Ass.prof.
Christian Kerez bereits zwei e + i Entwürfe durchgeführt.
Master of Advanced Studies «Baukompetenz – Bauprozess»
Im Herbstsemester 2008 beginnt das mas-Programm
«Baukompetenz – Bauprozess». Es wird die Absolventen
für komplexe Aufgaben als Gesamtleiter im Bauwesen
qualifizieren.
Elective Subjects
The Chair views itself as the facilitator between those involved
in construction and students. Active participation
is a prerequisite for the interdisciplinary workshops
and events, which take place in the lecture forum and on
building sites (Building Process: Construction).
– Building Process – Construction: The main theme of the
elective course is to visualize the building process using
current examples with architectural relevance. Visits
to construction sites form the main focus of the elective.
Interdisciplinary workshops on general questions relating
to the construction phase as well as regarding the topics
of coordination, logistics and site supervision supplement
the site visits and form the course’s theoretical base.
– Building Process – Organization: Based on a semester-long
topic, the organizational tasks involved in planning
and implementation will be presented. Basic principles,
trends and terminologies will be supplemented by
theoretical models and case studies. The active participation
of students is a prerequisite.
– Building Process: Economy
In addition to the fundamental considerations of building
economy, the case study plays a considerable role
in the course’s teaching structure. The economic issues
relating to construction will be investigated and decision-

making scenarios will be simulated. The compiled
data and economic context leads to a construction-related
recommendation for the project investigated.
E+I: Design with Integrated Disciplines
In the future, integrated design will form part of the
Bachelor and Masters programs of study. This will
be realized by means of ongoing participation by other
d-arch professors. Thus far, two e + i designs have
been realized together with Ass. Prof. Cristian Kerez considering
the themes ‘From Prototype to Production’
and ‘Own Initiative’.

Building Competence – Building Process
Starting with the Autumn Semester 2008, the Master of
Advanced Studies Program (mas-Program) ‘Building
Competence – Building Process’ will be introduced. It
will qualify the participants for the complex task of
building team leader.
