gta Ausstellungen gta Exhibitions
Die gta Ausstellungen präsentieren am Departement Architektur
ein vielfältiges Programm von bis zu zwölf Architekturausstellungen
jährlich. Der Bereich hat zum einen die
Aufgabe, die Resultate von Lehre und Forschung am
Institut gta und Departement Architektur der Öffentlichkeit
vorzustellen. Zum anderen werden zeitgenössische
Architekturpositionen aus dem In- und Ausland dargestellt.
Die Projekte werden mit internen und externen Partnern,
auch aus der Bauindustrie, entwickelt und realisiert.
Teil des Programms sind national und international übernommene
Ausstellungen, die sich durch den engen
Kontakt mit anderen Institutionen ergeben.
Übernommene und teilweise aktualisierte Ausstellungen
waren «Coletivo. Zeitgenössische Architektur aus
São Paulo» (University of São Paulo) und «Italy now?
Country_Positions in Architecture» (Cornell University).
In Zusammenarbeit mit Verbänden wurden die Preis-
träger der Wettbewerbe «Prix Acier» (Stahlbau Zentrum
Schweiz) und «Brick Award 2008» (Verband der Schweizer
Ziegeleien) gezeigt. Das für die Präsentation der
eth Architekturwettbewerbe entwickelte Display konnte
dieses Jahr für die Wettbewerbe «Gästehaus Science City»
und «Neubau Oberer Leonhard» eingesetzt werden.
Oscar Niemeyer – eine Hommage
Der 100. Geburtstag des brasilianischen Architekten Oscar
Niemeyer bot die Gelegenheit, sein Schaffen in einer
Hommage zu ehren. Sein Œuvre umfasst mittlerweile
mehr als 500 Bauwerke und Projekte. Kern der an

In the Department of Architecture, gta Exhibitions presents
a varied program of up to twelve architecture exhibitions
annually. The unit’s purpose is firstly to present to
the public the results of teaching and research work at
the gta Institute and the Department of Architecture. Secondly,
the exhibitions also describe contemporary
positions in architecture both in Switzerland and abroad.
The projects are developed and implemented in collaboration
with internal and external partners, including
partners from the building industry. Part of the program
involves hosting national and international touring
exhibitions, arising through the close contacts with other
institutions.
External exhibitions that were hosted and in part
revised included ‘Coletivo: Contemporary Architecture
from São Paolo’ (University of São Paolo) and ‘Italy
Now? Country Positions in Architecture’ (Cornell Uni-

versity). In collaboration with professional associations,
the prizewinners from the ‘Prix Acier’ (Swiss Steel
Construction Center) and ‘Brick Award 2008’ (Association
of Swiss Brickworks) competitions were shown.
The display developed for the presentation of the eth
Architectural Competitions was used this year for the
‘Science City Guest House’ and ‘Oberer Leonhard New
Building’ competitions.
Oscar Niemeyer – a Tribute
The 100th birthday of the Brazilian architect Oscar
Niemeyer provided an opportunity to pay tribute to his
work. His oeuvre has grown to include more than
500 buildings and projects. The exhibition at the eth
focused on recent pictures of his buildings taken by
the photographer Leonardo Finotti (Lisbon).
Graber Pulver. Close-Up
In each case, the work of the architects Marco Graber
and Thomas Pulver develops its energy from the specific
circumstances and conditions involved in a building
problem, and is distinguished by its high degree of individuality.
