A Great experience

I am a Venezuelan citizen who traveled a lot,
but never had enough contact to understand
other ways of living, I wanted to understand
the way of thinking that made and keep
countries like Germany and the United Kingdom
industrialized, while further educating
myself.
I have chosen the Master of Science in International
Business between the University of
Applied Sciences in Mainz, Germany and the
South Bank University in London.
I reached what I wanted, I think the ways of
like and thinking in both countries differ a
lot from each other and of course with what
I was used to, in South America and learning
that will be a comparative advantage to
other students of other Master’s programs.
During the course I met lots of people from
different countries like Bosnia, Germany,
France, Thailand and China. I learned, and
more important, I can understand how countries
that were totally destroyed in the Second
World War are now the leading countries.
I think that one
can learn a lot
in books and in
any course, but
very few courses
let you learn about
two different ways
of living that proved
to be efficient
with very good
results. Mathematics,
Finance, Strategy
is everywhere,
but how Germans and
British live and solve
their problems is
nowhere, thus an
experience that is an
asset itself.
In Germany I learned about a meticulous
mentality and a systematic way of doing
things aimed to perfection, while in London
I learned about a more dynamic and flexible
way to do the same. Both systems are great
and help for the future, because I can match
them together with what I know about how
things are solved in South America.
The teacher were always prepared to give a
good lesson and more important to encourage
the students to learn. The course staff
always helped me whenever it was needed,
what coming from a different continent and
culture was a great help. My specials thanks
to Sabine Klebig, Prof. Dr. Kurt Scharnbacher,
Prof. Dr. Utz Reich, Ulla Weinberg, Ariane
Goebel, in Mainz, and in London to Colin
Knapp, Carolina Valiente, James Slatcher and
