The course aims mainly at presenting basic theory before moving on to
some applications.
After the completion of the module, students are able
• to write down in the form of a proper game many of the strategic
situations they encounter in economic settings (the exam consists party
in texts describing such situations in which players, strategies, payoffs
are supposed to be easily identified);
• to solve any of these games (using the equilibrium concepts developed
in class), even those involving incentives problems due to asymmetries
in information and therefore provide advices.
Students
• have a view of how much understanding of situations one can gain
through rigorous modeling of the informational frameworks faced;
• have a clear idea of the conclusions carried by the models developed
in class, the latter serving as references for microeconomic theory
today
