in den 80er Jahren festgestellt, dass sich die Federgeometrien
unserer Kunden ähnlich sind. Daher sind wir auf die
Idee einer Plattform gekommen, um unseren Kunden, die ja
ursprünglich auf dem Holzsektor zuhause waren, die erforderlichen
„Metallteile“ zur Verfügung zu stellen. Bis zum
heutigen Tage pflegen wir eine sehr enge Zusammenarbeit
mit den Technikern der Spielplatzhersteller, um von Anfang
an die richtigen Produkte empfehlen zu können. Heute
bieten wir 6 Standartfedern in jeweils drei verschiedenen
Längen an, die aus zwei unterschiedlichen Drahtstärken

of this spring perch on the market and all these versions basically
have two things in common: they do not violate our copyright
but are produced separately from the spring because these are different

perfectly. And this is not, in my experience, always the case because
certain criteria during the production process need to be adhered to
accurately to the millimetre for the system to even be assembled. You
could almost say that the springs and the spring perches are calibrated
in order to be able to work perfectly in later use. For us this
means constant, interactive exchanges between our international
clients and ourselves.
P@L: What is the current range of the PlayCom system?
Stefan Steinhanses: We now have six different springs and the
corresponding spring perch and also the relevant assembly supports.
The range is completed by a hot-dip galvanized ground anchor. Its
advantage is that it is not welded and can be shipped in pieces to
save space, which makes it very attractive to customers overseas. We
can, of course, add UV-resistant polyester coating in almost any RAL

P@L: Bei so viel Federkompetenz: Inwiefern sehen Sie
im Markt Möglichkeiten eines Nachbaus der PlayCom
Feder und des Systems, um auf meine Eingangsfrage
zurückzukommen?
Stefan Steinhanses: Bis auf den patentierten Federteller
kann theoretisch jedes Bauteil nachgebaut werden. Die im

supports. The newest ‘family member’ is a compression spring
in a heavy-duty ‘HD’ version for large volume structures for which our
standard springs can no longer be used. A corresponding spring perch
has been adapted to this spring variation and is also included in the
range. All components are also subjected to constant testing within our
facility. My colleagues in the research and development department
also extract finished PlayCom products from time to time and put these
through comprehensive long-term tests that are carried out on a test
system that was developed specifically for this purpose.
P@L: What about customers who want individualized products?
Stefan Steinhanses: As I said at the beginning, we can manufacture practically
any form of spring in our production systems. Many of our clients
are already using this opportunity and are supplied with specific spring
designs that are completely adapted to the structures in their environment.
As you can see, we can produce individual designs for the playground
sector in just the same way as for many other applications in the
hope that they will result in more orders for us. We like to say that orders
are the applause of the salesman!
