A supplier’s product description should also be checked to ensure
that all layers of the protective flooring are seamless. Tiles used as
a basic layer involve considerable risks. Bonding problems due to residual
or insufficiently cleaned mould release agent remaining on the
moulded tiles can cause separation of the wearing surface from the base
layer or lead to cracking or uneven surfaces.
These are the most important quality features of seamless safety
floorings. Many more can also be added to the list. In closing, the
following factors can also be mentioned:
● The service performance of the supplier must be comprehensive
and competent from the planning phase right through to use of
the flooring. This includes both the service package of an industrial
company as well as that of a construction firm.
● The experience and expertise of the installation workers should
be scrutinised, as should their conditions of employment
and pay.
● The general reputation of a company can be determined
for example by certification as per ISO 9001,
ISO 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 or also based on
comprehensive technical documentation and meaningful
references about the product.
