GaLaBau 2010: Rund 1.000 Aussteller erwartet
2010 ist wieder GaLaBau-Jahr. Der Messebesuch vom 15. bis 18. September in Nürnberg ist fest im Terminkalender
der grünen Branche eingetragen. Landschaftsgärtner, Landschaftsarchitekten und Entscheider aus kommunalen
Gartenbauämtern informieren sich vier Tage lang über neue Produkte und Trends auf der alle zwei Jahre stattfindenden
internationalen Fachmesse für Urbanes Grün und Freiräume. Mit dem Messe-Fachteil Playground sowie den
2. Deutschen Golfplatztagen haben wichtige GaLaBau-Arbeitsfelder wie der Bau und die Pflege von Spielplätzen
und Golfplatzanlagen eine eigene Adresse bekommen.

construction and maintenance of urban, green and open spaces.
Making and cultivating contacts the easy way
The PLAYGROUND segment in hall 1 is meanwhile an established feature
at the GaLaBau exhibition, where the manufacturers of playground
equipment and leisure facilities show their new products. The fact that
playground construction and GaLaBau go hand in hand is shown by the
example of the “Green Playgrounds” competition, which is organized for
the first time by “The Green City” initiative. The aim of the competition is
to pay tribute to exemplary playgrounds, in which varied, high-quality
green facilities tailored to their location play a key role. The winners of the
competition are presented at GaLaBau. There will also be a special show
again in hall 1, which is organized by the Federal Association of Playground
Equipment and Leisure Facility Manufacturers – Bundesverband
der Spielplatzgeräte- und Freizeitanlagen-Hersteller (BSFH). This year’s
event under the title of “Playpoints for modern playing in the city” shows
what’s important to make sure urban spaces offer a variety of play areas
and remain worth living in for residents of all generations. A provisional

Inzwischen fest auf der GaLaBau-Messe etabliert ist der Fachteil
PLAYGROUND in Halle 1. Dort zeigen Hersteller von Spielplatzgeräten
und Freizeitanlagen ihre Neuheiten. Dass Spielplatzbau
und GaLaBau Hand in Hand gehen, zeigt das Beispiel
des Wettbewerbs „Grüne Spielplätze“, der zum ersten Mal von
der Initiative „Die Grüne Stadt“ organisiert wird. Ziel des Wettbewerbs
ist, vorbildliche Spielplätze auszuzeichnen, bei denen
eine abwechslungsreiche, standortgerechte und qualitative

GaLaBau is back again in 2010. A visit to the exhibition in Nürnberg from 15–18 September is a firm entry in the diaries of experts in
the green sector. Landscape gardeners, landscape architects and decision-makers from local authority parks departments source information
on new products and trends at the four-day international Trade Fair for Urban Green and Open Spaces, which takes place
every two years. The PLAYGROUND segment and the 2nd Deutsche Golfplatztage provide important areas of landscaping like the
construction and maintenance of playgrounds and golf courses with their own event.
Attractive supporting programme
GaLaBau is not just a product show, but offers an extremely comprehensive
and technically interesting supporting programme that almost no other exhibition
can match. The responsibility for this programme rests with the
German landscaping federation – Bundesverband Garten-, Landschaftsund
Sportplatzbau (BGL), the honorary sponsor of GaLaBau. Here is an
extract from the programme to whet the appetite: The ELCA International
Award for Ecological Construction & Landscaping will be presented again
at GaLaBau 2010. The European Landscape Association (ELCA) and BGL
jointly present this international award to promote interdisciplinary cooperation
between developers, landscape architects and landscape gardeners.
Many other events on green construction are also offered parallel to
the exhibition. The spectrum of seminars covers topics from “German regulations
for contracts with consumers” to “Bioengineering construction”.
This year’s event also focuses on “Grass” and “Light in the garden”. In the
Landscape Gardener Cup, the Germany-wide skills competition organized
again this year, the best landscape gardeners from the individual states
compete against each other to prove their professional skills. The aim is to
determine the German champion team, which will also compete in the
World Championship. The GaLaBau Innovation Medal is awarded for
new and progressive products and processes for the construction and maintenance
of landscaped facilities and is meanwhile regarded in the industry
as a seal of quality. All GaLaBau exhibitors offering a new product or
major improvement are invited to enter. Detailed information and the
