AD8 und AD8plus - HighEnd 8-Kanal Audio Converter
Acht XLR-Anschlüsse, Standard-AES/EBU-Terminals, eine
ADAT Schnittstelle, Wordclock In/Out und die RS422
Steueranschlüsse finden in nur einer Höheneinheit Platz
und bieten dabei eine Vollausstattung analoger und
digitaler Schnittstellen.
Das Frontpanel und seine Bedienelemente sind im Hinblick
auf schnelle Bedienung und Übersichtlichkeit getrimmt,
beides Eigenschaften, welche im Livebetrieb vorteilhaft
sind. Jeder der acht Inputs auf der Frontseite verfügt über
einen einrastenden XLR-Anschluss. Der AD8 / AD8plus
verfügt über einen D-SUB-25-Pin-AES/EBU-Output-
Terminal, einen BNC-Anschluss für Wordclock Ein- und
Ausgang sowie einer ADAT Schnittstelle. Mit Hilfe der
beiden Digitalschnittstellen ist es möglich das Input-Signal
digital zu splitten und gleichzeitig für FOH und Monitoring /
Recording zu verwenden. Über die RS422-Schnittstelle
können am AD8 / AD8plus Fernsteuerungen angeschlossen
werden.
Der AD8plus verfügt zusätzlich über eine analoge Schnittstelle
(SUB-D). Diese wird über einen Trafo 1:1 gesplittet
und an den SUB-D weitergeleitet. Diese praktische analoge
Schnittstelle ermöglicht „ECHTES“ Monitorgaining oder
verbindet unterschiedliche Digital- oder Analogsysteme.
Die Gain-Pegel der Mic-Preamps des AD8 / AD8plus sind
über Digitalmixer wie z.B. dem LS9, DM1000, dem
DM2000 oder dem PM5D in 1dB-Schritten fernsteuerbar.
Die 48V Phantompower sind für jeden Kanal einzeln zuschaltbar
einstellbar und speicherbar. Diese Kontrollfunktion
macht es möglich, den AD8 / AD8plus als fernsteuerbare
Stagebox einzusetzen. Es können bis zu 256
AD8 / AD8plus miteinander verkettet werden. Die Adressierung
der Geräte untereinander funktioniert selbstständig.
Der AD8 / AD8plus verfügt über eine sogenannte IGR
Funktion (Intelligent Gain Reduction), welche den
Anwender bei der Kontrolle der Eingangspegel unterstützt.
Die SEL. (select) Tasten des AD8 / AD8plus ermöglichen
die Abfrage des aktuellen Gainwertes, der internen Gerätetemperatur
sowie das Abrufen von Softwareinformation.

Eight XLR-Connections, Standard AES/EBU Terminals, an ADAT
interface, wordclock In / Out and the RS422 remote control all fit into
a compact 1U high device, and also provides the complete equipment
range of analoge and digital interfaces.
Each of the eight inputs at the frontpanel offers an XLR connector
with a latch lock. A D-Sub25-pin-AES/EBU-Output terminal is included
in each device (AD8 and the AD8plus), as well as a BNC connection
for word clock input and output and a ADAT interface. Via both digital
interfaces the input signal can be digitally split (after gain) and used
for FOH, monitoring or recording at the same time. Remote controls of
the consoles or a PC can be connected at the RS422 interface to the
AD8 / AD8plus.
The AD8plus offers an analoge interface (SUB-D). This analoge interface
is split through a trafo 1:1:1 and then sent to the SUB-D.
This practical analoge interface gives the possibility of „REAL“ monitor
gaining or connections between digital or analoge systems.
The AD8 and AD8plus preamp gain levels can be remotely controlled
by the digital mixes eg LS9, DM 1000 or the PM5D in 1 dB steps. The
48V Phantom power can be individually regulated and saved for each
channel by the mixing device (or PC). This control enabels the use of
the AD8 / AD8plus as a remotely controlled stage box. This feature
also allows an interlink of up to 256 AD8 / AD8plus to automatically
address the devices.
The AD8 / AD8plus offers an IGR function (Intelligent Gain Reduction),
assisting the user in controlling input levels.
The Select key function of the AD8 / AD8plus enables the user to find
out the actual gain levels of the internal machine temperature as well
as gathering software information.
