A cat walks into the office of the
Ministry for Cat Affairs and requests
a passport. All goes pretty well
until the female and male cat clerks
demand to know the cat's sex/gender.

Simeiz ist ein kleines Dorf an der
Südküste der Krim, das derzeit
von Russland besetzt ist. In der
Sowjetzeit entstand in dem Dorf ein
Underground-Urlaubsschwulentreff.
Ab den 1990er Jahren wurde Simeiz
zu einem wichtigen Treffpunkt für
Mitglieder der LGBTQ+-Community
aus der Ukraine, Belarus und
Russland. Gegenwärtig ist der
schwule Urlaubsort aufgrund der
homophoben Gesetze der Russischen
Föderation vom Verschwinden
bedroht.
Simeiz is a small village on the
southern coast of Crimea, temporarily
occupied by Russia. In the Soviet
era, an underground gay resort arose
in the village. From the 1990s on,
Simeiz became a significant meeting
point of the LGBTQ+ communities
from Ukraine, Belarus and Russia.
At the moment, the gay resort is
threatened with disappearance
due to the homophobic laws of the
Russian Federation.
