im „Kurzschluss“ Magazin auf ARTE/
ZDF sehen können.

Liebes Publikum, liebe Freund:innen
von goEast – Festival des mittel- und
osteuropäischen Films,
goEast Filmfestival bringt auch
in diesem Jahr aktuelles Kino
aus Mittel- und Osteuropa nach
Wiesbaden und in weitere Orte im
Rhein-Main-Gebiet. Das Festivalteam
hat Ihnen für die kommenden Tage
ein Programm aus Filmvorführungen
und begleitenden Veranstaltungen
kuratiert, das sowohl Filmerbe als
auch aktuelle Filmkunst umfasst
und sichtbar macht.
goEast widmet sich auch wieder
gezielt der Nachwuchsförderung
und Vernetzung: Im East-West Talent
Lab kommen Nachwuchstalente aus
Mittel- und Osteuropa zusammen
und vernetzen sich mit Produzent:innen,
Redakteur:innen und Förderern.
Das East-West Talent Lab hat sich
in der internationalen Filmbranche
fest etabliert und ist 2024 erneut
auf non-fiktionale und dokumentarische
Formate fokussiert. 16
Dokumentarfilmprojekte mittel- und
osteuropäischer Filmschaffender
werden ausgewählt, deren Teams an
einem vollen Programm über fünf
Tage teilnehmen: Dazu zählen neben
Vernetzungsmöglichkeiten auch
eine Masterclass, Workshops und der
goEast Human Rights Sunday.

Aleksander Mihalkovich und Hanna
Badziaka aus Belarus waren mit
MOTHERLAND für den Europäischen
Filmpreis nominiert und auch im
diesjährigen goEast Wettbewerb
laufen mit KIX von Dávid Mikulán, A
PICTURE TO REMEMBER von Olga
Chernykh und SMILING GEORGIA
von Luka Beradze Filmprojekte, die
zuvor im Rahmen des Labs gepitcht
wurden.
Dear audience, dear friends of
goEast – Festival of Central and
Eastern European Film,
This year, goEast Film Festival is
once again bringing contemporary
cinema from Central and Eastern
Europe to Wiesbaden and further
locations in the Rhine-Main region.
The festival team has curated a
program for you for the coming
days composed of film screenings
and accompanying events that
encompasses film heritage and
current cinematic art and makes
them visible.
goEast is also devoting itself again
in a focussed manner to fostering
and connecting emerging film
talents: in the East-West Talent Lab
up-and-coming film professionals
from Central and Eastern Europe
come together and network with
producers, editors and funders. The
East-West Talent Lab has firmly
established itself in the international
film industry – the 2024 edition
renews its focus on non-fiction and
documentary formats. 16 documentary
film projects from Central
and Eastern European filmmakers
have been selected; their teams will
participate in an extensive program
spanning five days, featuring, in
addition to networking opportunities,
a masterclass, workshops and the
goEast Human Rights Sunday.
East-West Talent Lab alumni
Aleksander Mihalkovich and Hanna
Badziaka from Belarus have been
nominated for the European Film
Award for MOTHERLAND, and this
year's goEast Competition also
features film projects that were
previously pitched in the scope of
the Lab (KIX by Dávid Mikulán, A
PICTURE TO REMEMBER by Olga
Chernykh and SMILING GEORGIA by
Luka Beradze).
goEast offers up-and-coming
filmmakers a unique platform beyond
the festival as well: in 2025, you will
be able to see a short film program
composed of submissions from
Central Asian filmmakers in the
“Kurzschluss” series on ARTE/ZDF.
