Katrin Hillgruber arbeitet als
freie Journalistin, Film- und
Literaturkritikerin für verschiedene
Zeitungen, Radiosender und das
Online-Filmmagazin „artechock“ in
München. Sie hat Neuere deutsche
Literatur, Theaterwissenschaft sowie
Geschichte Ost- und Südosteuropas
studiert. Seit 2015 ist sie ehrenamtlich
als Kuratorin tätig für das Münchner
Filmfestival „Cinepol“/ „filmPOLSKA“
und dessen Nachfolger, das „Mittel
Punkt Europa Filmfest“. Sie reist häufig
nach Osteuropa, darunter im September
2023 mit dem deutsch-ukrainischen
Schriftstellerprojekt „Eine Brücke aus
Papier“ ins ukrainische Uschhorod.
Katrin Hillgruber works as a freelance
journalist and film and literature critic
for diverse newspapers, radio broadcasters
and the online film magazine
“artechock” in Munich. She studied
contemporary German literature, theatre
studies and the history of Eastern and
South-Eastern Europe. Since 2015, she
has been active on a volunteer basis
as a curator for the Munich-based film
festival “Cinepol”/ “filmPOLSKA” and
its successor, “Mittel Punkt Europa
Filmfest”. She travels to Eastern Europe
frequently, including a trip to the
Ukrainian city of Uzhhorod in September
2023 with the German-Ukrainian writer
project “Eine Brücke aus Papier”.

Prof. Dr. Bojidar Manov wurde 1947 in
Sofia geboren. Er ist Filmkritiker und
Journalist, u. a. für „Trud News“, „Kultura
monthly“, den bulgarischen Rundfunk
und das bulgarische Fernsehen. Er
war Dekan der Filmfakultät an der
Nationalen Akademie für Theater- und
Filmkunst in Sofia und ist ehemaliges
Mitglied der Nationalen Filmkommission
in Bulgarien. Von 2001 bis 2005 war
er Vizepräsident der FIPRESCI. Er
war Mitglied internationaler Jurys bei
Filmfestivals in Cannes, Venedig, Berlin,
Thessaloniki, Istanbul, Pusan, Karlovy
Vary, San Sebastian, Valladolid, Palm
Springs und anderen und ist Mitglied der
Europäischen Filmakademie. Bojidar
Manov hat zwölf Bücher geschrieben
und sechs Romane übersetzt. Er ist
Ehrenbürger von Sofia.
Prof. Dr. Bojidar Manov was born
in Sofia in 1947. He is a film critic
and journalist, among other outlets
for “Trud News”, “Kultura monthly”,
Bulgarian National Radio and Bulgarian
National Television. He served as dean
of the Cinema Faculty at the National
Academy for Theatre and Film Arts,
Sofia and is a former member of
Bulgaria's National Film Board. He
was the Vice-President of FIPRESCI
from 2001 until 2005. He has served
as a member of international juries at
film festivals in Cannes, Venice, Berlin,
Thessaloniki, Istanbul, Karlovy Vary, San
Sebastian, Valladolid, Palm Springs and
other places and is a member of the
European Film Academy. Bojidar Manov
has written twelve books and translated
six novels. He is an honorary citizen of
Sofia.
Cătălin Olaru ist seit 2009 Filmkritiker.
Im Jahr 2012 gewann er das Alex Leo
Serban-Stipendium des „Transilvania
International Film Festival“ (TIFF) und
wurde 2015 mit dem Stipendium für
Filmkritiker des Festivals „Les films de
Cannes à Bucarest“ ausgezeichnet.
Er war mehrfach Mitglied in Jurys
internationaler Filmfestivals und ist
Autor des kritischen Essays „Mircea
Daneliuc - Microphone Test“ (2016).
Er veröffentlichte Studien in den
Sammelbänden Film Politics (hrsg. von
Andrei Gorzo, Andrei State, 2014) und
Film Politics II (hrsg. von Andrei Gorzo,
Gabriela Filippi, 2017). Er ist außerdem
künstlerischer Leiter von „Taifas, the
Balkan Film and Culture Festival“ (seit
2023) und des „European Film Festival“
(seit 2022).
Cătălin Olaru is a film critic since 2009.
In 2012, he won the Alex Leo Serban fellowship
by the Transilvania International
Film Festival (TIFF), and was awarded
the fellowship for film critics in 2015
by the Les films de Cannes à Bucarest
festival. He has served several times
on juries of international film festivals.
Olaru is the author of the critical essay
“Mircea Daneliuc – Microphone Test”
(2016). He published studies in the
edited volumes Film Politics” (editors:
Andrei Gorzo, Andrei State, 2014) and
Film Politics II (editors: Andrei Gorzo,
Gabriela Filippi, 2017). He is also the
artistic director of “Taifas, the Balkan
Film and Culture Festival” (since 2023)
and of the “European Film Festival”
(since 2022).
