Albanien verfügt über ein staatliches
Filmarchiv, Kosovo ist noch dabei
ein Archiv aufzubauen. Ein wichtiger
Teil des kosovarischen Filmerbes
befindet sich außerdem in Serbien,
wo die Regierung die Souveränität
von Kosovo nicht anerkennt. Auch
in der Filmförderung unterscheidet
die Situation sich: Während
Albanien Zugriff auf europäische
Förderprogramme wie Eurimages
und Creative Europe hat, ist dies für
Kosovo nicht der Fall. Was bedeutet
dies für Produktion und Archivwesen
und welche Zukunftsaussichten gibt
es? Wir diskutieren gemeinsam mit
Expert:innen aus beiden Ländern.
FUTURE PERSPECTIVES FOR FILM
PRODUCTION AND FILM HERITAGE IN
KOSOVO AND ALBANIA
Albania possesses a state-sponsored
national film archive, while Kosovo
is currently in the process of
establishing an archive. In addition,
a significant portion of Kosovar film
heritage is located in Serbia, whose
government refuses to recognise
Kosovo's sovereignty. The situation
is also different between the two
countries when it comes to film
funding: while Albania has access
to European funding programs such
as Eurimages and Creative Europe,
this is not the case for Kosovo. What
does this mean for production and
archival efforts and what are the
perspectives for the future? We will
be discussing this and more with
experts from both countries.

Der im kosovarischen Dorf Nevokaze gedrehte Film
zeigt die traditionelle Lebensweise einer 117-köpfigen
albanischen Familie, die alle unter einem Dach und in
großer Harmonie leben. Er ist eines der besten Beispiele
für ethnografische Filme aus dieser Region und wurde als
„spirituelles Porträt der Nation“ bezeichnet.
Shot in the Kosovar village of Nevokaze, the film depicts
the traditional lifestyle of an Albanian family numbering
117 members, all living under one roof and in great
harmony. One of the finest examples of ethnographic film
to emerge from this region, it has been called a “spiritual
portrait of the nation”.
