Neue Mail Adressierung URZ BN 94-3
PRIMARY
Add the ALIAS "Firstname.Lastname@urz.uni-heidelberg.de" to the mail
servers alias list with THAT machine you send the request from as the
local sender AND receiver of mail messages addressed with ALIAS.
This implies that THE machine you send the request from is your
primary mail station, where you want to write AND read your mail.
A primary ALIAS implies two actions of the mail server:
- for every message you send from your machine your local mail address
is rewritten to be the choosen ALIAS.
- every message the choosen ALIAS receives will be forwarded to that
machine and user who sent the PRIMARY request with this ALIAS.
There can only be one primary ALIAS at all. A user id and machine can
not have another secondary alias.
There MUST be a primary ALIAS if you want to benefit from secondary
aliases on other machines.
SECONDARY
Add the ALIAS "Firstname.Lastname@urz.uni-heidelberg.de" to the mail
servers alias list with THAT machine you send the message from as a
possible local sender of mail messages.
This implies that THE machine you send the request from is a
secondary mail station, where you only write mail.
A secondary alias implies only one action of the mail server:
- for every message you send from your machine your local mail address
is rewritten to be the choosen ALIAS.
There can be a lot of secondary aliases for all machines which are
not serving as your primary mail station.
WARNING: You MUST have a primary ALIAS to benefit from the address
rewriting. Without a primary alias a mail to ALIAS would
never reach you.
To create a primary ALIAS is in YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!
DELPRIMARY
Delete the primary ALIAS "Firstname.Lastname@urz.uni-heidelberg.de",
if it exists, for THAT machine you send the request from.
DELSECONDARY
Delete the secondary ALIAS "Firstname.Lastname@urz.uni-heidelberg.de",
if it exists, for THAT machine you send the request from.
WARNING: If you delete a primary ALIAS all secondary aliases will still
work rewriting your sender address! A reply will not reach
you anymore.
LIST
List all ALIAS entries "Firstname.Lastname@urz.uni-heidelberg.de"
in the mail servers alias database.
The LIST function is only granted to your own entries based on the
same checking mechanisms used for PRIMARY, SECONDARY, DELPRIMARY
and DELSECONDARY requests.
