Discription:
Read more Kubernetes Dashboard UI Key Features: Explore Kubernetes 1.18 features and its rich
ecosystem of tools like Kubectl, Knative, and Helm Master Kubernetes architecture and design to
build and deploy secure distributed applications Learn advanced concepts like autoscaling, cluster
federation, serverless computing and service mesh integration for observability What's new in this
third edition? The 3rd edition of Mastering Kubernetes is entirely revamped. Kubernetes and the
ecosystem around it has matured greatly since the 2nd edition. The major additions are of course
the two new chapters: Serverless Computing on Kubernetes (chapter 12) and Utilizing Service
Meshes (chapter 14). Both of these topics bring real value to the container orchestration scene.
They are important tools in the arsenal of every Kubernetes developer. What’s new: All the
chapters are updated to Kubernetes 1.18 Many new tools are added Kubectl, Knative, and Helm
Two new chapters are added Serverless Computing on Kubernetes and Utilizing Service Meshes
Read more What else is new? Serverless computing in both its forms liberates the Kubernetes
developers and administrators for managing the worker nodes. The service mesh paradigm is
another major change and adds a necessary layer of fine-grained control of networking. I
significantly overhauled chapter 2 on Creating Kubernetes Clusters and introduced 3 different
ways to create local clusters: minikube, KinD and k3d. This was very important to me. I wanted
readers to be able to follow along and try the many code samples that accompany each topic. In
previous editions, it was touch and go as tools and versions kept changing. It was hard to ensure
that readers will be able to have the same experience. Read more Why did you decide to write an
advanced book on Kubernetes? Kubernetes has become a fundamental technology for cloud
computing. Containers are the way to package applications and services. There are many
Kubernetes books out there these days. But, most of these books focus just on the basics of
Kubernetes. I wanted to bring to the readers something different that they can’t find in other books
or the documentation. My goal was to tell the story of Kubernetes in-depth and yet keep the
content approachable. The book goes into very advanced topics like extending Kubernetes itself,
but it all builds on the foundation that was laid out in earlier chapters. Beginners can read the book
chapter by chapter and experience the content in a way that is logical and connected. My
approach is always to present enough context for the target audience, but not rely on their
previous knowledge. In Mastering Kubernetes, Third Edition, I explain the basic principles and
concepts that underlie the architecture and design of Kubernetes and build from there. Table of
