"...<strong>no</strong>thing whatsoever must be changed in any <strong>of</strong> these documents and that they should be<br />

put away and stored for 50 years to secure their safety from destruction and falsification by<br />

anyone interested in the falsification and destruction <strong>of</strong> historical truth." <strong>The</strong> archive is<br />

<strong>no</strong>wadays located in the Rare Books and Special Collections at the Francis A. Countway<br />

Library <strong>of</strong> Medicine at Harvard University and comprises well over <strong>20</strong>0 archive boxes <strong>of</strong><br />

materials. <strong>The</strong> Wilhelm Reich Museum in Rangeley, Maine<br />

(http://www.wilhelmreichmuseum.org) has <strong>no</strong>w an<strong>no</strong>unced that according to Reich's will, the<br />

archive will be opened for scholars in late <strong><strong>20</strong>07</strong> or early <strong>20</strong>08. It would be interesting to k<strong>no</strong>w<br />

whether the opening <strong>of</strong> this archive will surface materials concerning Reich's actvities in the<br />

European communist movement during the 19<strong>20</strong>s and 1930s.<br />

<strong>The</strong> German Foundation for the Reappraisal <strong>of</strong> the SED-Dictatorship (Stiftung zur Aufarbeitung<br />

der SED-Diktatur) has published a<strong>no</strong>ther volume <strong>of</strong> their "Vademekum Contemporary History"<br />

archival guidebooks, this time concerning archives and institutions in Hungary. This<br />

guidebook, compiled by Ja<strong>no</strong>s M. Rainer, Judit M. Topits and Ulrich Mählert, may be ordered<br />

for 6 Euros from http://www.stiftung-aufarbeitung.de.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Comintern Online Database, the biggest archival ressource on <strong>Communist</strong> history in the<br />

web, has been enriched in Summer <strong>20</strong>06 by the addition <strong>of</strong> three newly digitized fonds,<br />

including approx. 100 000 pages. <strong>The</strong>se three fonds <strong>no</strong>w included are the Balkan<br />

Ländersekretariat (f. 495.69), the Eastern Ländersekretariat (f. 495.154) and the South<br />

American Bureau <strong>of</strong> the ECCI (f. 503.1).<br />

IDC Publishers, Amsterdam: Comintern files concerning Mexico released.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Dutch publishing house IDC Publishers has released the files <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Communist</strong> Party <strong>of</strong><br />

Mexico covering the period 1919-1940 in a micr<strong>of</strong>orm edition. <strong>The</strong>y include extensive<br />

documentation <strong>of</strong> the relations between the Comintern and its counterparts in Mexico and<br />

other countries in Latin America. Many documents in this collection are unique.
