Hello, Anais, with what concerns do trans*<br />
people come to your pharmacy?<br />
So far, people have come to us because they<br />
became aware of us in the Sonntags Club<br />
e.V.. Many simply drop in and ask if we know<br />
anything about hormone therapy. They want<br />
to know what exactly happens when certain<br />
medications are taken. Sometimes there are<br />
very specific questions, for example about<br />
contraindications, or you have a certain<br />
previous illness and are not sure whether it<br />
is compatible with hormone therapy. A lot of<br />
people don‘t know exactly what to expect.<br />
What contraindications can occur?<br />
Absolute contraindications are rare. We<br />
know that some drugs are incompatible with<br />
hormone therapy. If, for example, an epilepsy<br />
or migraine diagnosis is made, you have to<br />
take a close look at which hormones can also<br />
be taken. However, these are very individual<br />
situations that are always clarified with the<br />
attending physicians. We always make sure<br />
that the drugs are compatible.<br />
You are currently building up the department<br />
and the network for it. How are you doing<br />
this?<br />
Mainly through exchange and further training.<br />
For example, we talk to doctors who specialise<br />
in trans* people. Then we contact the<br />
Sunday Club e.V. At the moment it all works<br />
through word of mouth, so it‘s an exciting<br />
phase in which we‘re all just getting to know<br />
each other and organising ourselves.<br />
Is it also possible to drop by spontaneously?<br />
We have separate consultation rooms where<br />
we can talk in private. Depending on how busy<br />
we are, we may need to make an appointment,<br />
but feel free to pop in and ask to speak.<br />
