Approximatelyevery10weeksparentswilreceive

ashortreportoftheirchild’sprogresandtheyare

encouragedtosupporttheirchildinformingfuture

targets.Onceperyearthereisamoreextensive

academicreportfolowedbyaparents’evening.

The spiritual dimension is of fundamental

importancetothelifeofourschool.Inaddition

totimetabledReligiousEducationlesons,each

sesionofeachdaybeginsandendswithanactof

colectiveworship. Thismaytaketheform ofa

SchoolorHouseasemblyorashortactof

worshipconductedundertheguidanceofthe

pastoraltutororclasteacherasappropriate.

Each memberofstafiscommited to the

developmentoftheCatholicethosoftheschool.

TheGovernorsremindparentsoftheirrightto

withdrawtheirchildrenfrom religiouseducation

andworship.Parentsarealsoreminded,however,

that the school exists to provide a

Catholic/Christianeducationforitspupilsand

thereforeparentsareexpectedtobeinsympathy

withitsaimsandobjectives.

SEX EDUCATION

Educationonsexualmaterswilincludeboth

themoralandphysicalaspectsofthistopicand

wilbe covered in ReligiousEducation and

Biologylesonswhereappropriate,inasuitable

contextandwithinthegeneralreligiousand

moralatitude ofthe school. Itprovides

knowledgeabouttheprocesesofreproduction

andthenatureofsexualityandrelationships.It

encouragestheacquisitionofatitudeswhich

alowsstudentstomanagetheirrelationshipsina

responsibleandhealthymanner.Parents

maywithdrawtheirchildrenfrom alor

partofthesexeducationprovided.
