<strong>Agrar</strong>- <strong>und</strong> <strong>Ernährungswirtschaft</strong> neue Wege beschreiten.<br />

keiten in der Herstellung aus. Die Produktion ist<br />
getaktet, Maschinen laufen r<strong>und</strong> um die Uhr. Viele<br />
(Hygiene-)Auflagen sind einzuhalten. Da gehen<br />
Vorstellung <strong>und</strong> Realität schon mal auseinander.<br />
Es ist einfacher, jemanden für eine Bürotätigkeit<br />
zu interessieren als für die Zerlegung im Fleischereibetrieb.<br />
Oliver Schindler: Außerdem sind die Anforde -<br />
rungen der jungen Generation beim Thema<br />
Work-Life-Balance gestiegen. Arbeit in Schichten<br />
kommt teilweise gar nicht mehr infrage. Aus<br />
solchen Veränderungen müssen wir Schlüsse für<br />
unsere strategischen Entscheidungen ziehen.<br />
Durch die Corona-Krise entstand jedoch – aus<br />
enjoy nibbles and snacks. Even so, we sense that<br />
the food sector in itself doesn’t show enough<br />
presence.<br />
Tobias Blömer: Indeed, it is true that other in -<br />
dustries seem to be more attractive. But there are<br />
certain differences in perception, depending on<br />
whether you look at simpler tasks or technically<br />
more demanding jobs. Interest in our work also<br />
differs from one region to the next. Manufacturing<br />
plays a key role in the food industry with its pre -<br />
dominantly medium-sized structures. Production<br />
is organised in precisely timed cycles, with ma -<br />
chines running ro<strong>und</strong> the clock. Many (hygiene)<br />
regulations have to be heeded. It is easy for dif -<br />
ferences to emerge between what people think<br />
and what it’s really like. It is easier to interest people<br />
in office jobs than working as butchers in a meatproducing<br />
plant.<br />
Oliver Schindler: Furthermore, young people<br />
make greater demands in terms of work/life<br />
balance. Some of them simply won’t consider<br />
doing shift work. Our strategic decisions have to<br />
be based on these changes. However, it seems to<br />
