Entsprechend ihrer Lebensweise können sich die Bio-Waldlandputen auch unter Bäumen
bewegen, wie hier auf dem Biobetrieb in Zieslübbe.
The organic woodland turkeys are free to move about also under the trees according to
their natural way of life, as seen here on the organic farm in Zieslübbe.
Produkte.
Angefangen hatte alles mit dem Marktwagen. Als
das nicht mehr funktionierte, die Wochenmärkte
einbrachen, eröffnete das Unternehmen seine
ersten Filialen. Zweiflern, die meinten, ein reiner
Geflügelladen würde nicht funktionieren, ent -
gegnete Armin Kremer mit Zuversicht. Er glaubte
an die Idee und behielt Recht. Und auch die
Marktwagen sind weiterhin unterwegs. „Der
Wochenmarkt erlebt heute eine Renaissance“, so
Kremer. Draußen an der frischen Luft ganz viel -
fältige und regional erzeugte Produkte einzu -
kaufen, wird immer beliebter. „Mit unseren regionalen
Geflügelprodukten passen wir da ganz
wunderbar rein. Ein Grundsortiment haben wir
immer dabei. Dazu kommen weitere Bioprodukte
und Saisonales.“ Nur als Saisonprodukt war auch
die Bio-Waldlandpute zunächst gedacht. In -
and more besides in the seven stores and even
more market stalls throughout Mecklenburg-
Western Pomerania, extending as far as Schleswig-Holstein
and Brandenburg. About 2,500 to
3,000 turkeys and 16,000 chickens are processed
every week in the small village of Severin between
Crivitz and Parchim, compared to the ten animals
slaughtered by hand each day when Kremer’s
father established the company after German re -
unification. Today, 240 employees are responsible
for slaughtering, processing and refining the
products.
It all began with a market stall. Once this no longer
worked sufficiently when the farmers markets
went into decline, the company opened its first
stores. When people doubted whether a pure
poultry store could succeed, Armin Kremer responded
with optimistic confidence. He believed in
his idea and he was right. The market stalls are
also still in use. “Farmers’ markets are going
through a revival”, says Kremer. It is increasingly
popular to buy regional products outside in the
fresh air with all the diversity of a market setting.
“Our regional poultry products fit in perfectly. We
always offer a basic range of products, together
