5th International Conference on Numerical Methods and Applications: NMA'02,
Bulgaria, Sofia
This conference has a rich tradition and its previous edition (4th Conference organized
in 1997) it was recognized by the in-cooperation with SIAM status. Based on our
previous experiences we believe that we can organize an even better event. We have
already requested in-cooperation with SIAM status and we hope to obtain it shortly.
However, as an European event we believe that collaboration with GAMM would be
very appropriate.
The Central Laboratory for Parallel Processing, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in
cooperation with The Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, Bulgarian Academy of
Sciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, University of Sofia, is organizing
the 5th International Conference on Numerical Methods and Applications. The
conference is devoted to the 70th anniversary of the distinguished Bulgarian
mathematician Academician Blagovest Sendov.
The first four conferences served as a forum where scientists from the strongest
research groups from many countries were provided an opportunity to exchange ideas
and establish research cooperation. With this conference we shall continue this
tradition. During the conference NMA'02 a wide range of problems concerning recent
achievements in numerical methods and their applications in mathematical modelling
will be discussed. We shall also provide a forum for exchange of ideas between
scientists, who develop and study numerical methods, and researchers, who use them
for solving real life problems.
