Five arguments in favour of participation
in the Leipzig Book Fair

The enormous potential of the Leipzig Book Fair:
With 2,071 exhibitors and 156,000 visitors, the most important spring
forum in the sector in the German-speaking world creates a venue with
direct access to readers, authors and professional partners involved in
selling books, brokering literature and promoting reading. 45,000 of
those attending are trade visitors, including 7,151 booksellers and 19,800
teachers and educators. This creates the most favourable atmosphere
for the sustained strengthening and bonding of customer loyalty. And,
as a traditionally strong Central and Eastern European hub, the Fair also
opens the door to the East.

Presence at the Book Fair achieves an important media impact:
Special trade advertising and press events support participation at
the exhibition, both during and after the Leipzig Book Fair. In addition
to this, around 3,000 journalists from all over Europe report on this
sector meeting.

The Leipzig Book Fair is an exhibition with real event character:
“Leipzig liest” – Leipzig Reads, and Europe’s largest festival for readers
with over 2,000 events and 1,500 participants offers every exhibitor the
chance to present authors, new ideas and programmes directly to a fasci-
nated public, a public that is young, well educated and has travelled
from far and wide to come to Leipzig. The multitude of appealing reading
locations mean that, in addition to the exhibition site, the entire city is
transformed into a giant reading venue, thus promoting the extraordinary
communicative atmosphere of the Book Fair.
