Autorisierung des Germanischen Lloyd durch Flaggenstaatsbehörden 

Germanischer Lloyd is recognized as Classification Society by more than 126 

countries engaged in shipping. 

Germanischer Lloyd has been granted authorizations for comprehensive 

statutory functions, such as surveys, approvals and certification service, by the 

flag State administrations of the countries listed below. These authorizations are 

based on the rules, regulations and requirements stipulated by the International 

Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1974, as amended, the International 

Convention on Load Lines, 1966, as amended, and the International Convention 

for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, 1973/78, as amended. Furthermore, 

they are extended, to a varying degree, to other international instruments, e.g. 

Codes and IMO Resolutions. The list below contains a summary of the main 

authorizations only. For countries not listed, or surveys and certificates not 

marked, the flag State administration in question may, on special request, issue 

case-by-case authorizations. 

As a matter of principle, the statutory functions mentioned above apply for GLclassed 

ships only. In case of the withdrawal of a ship’s class, e.g. due to 

technical requirements not meeting the demands of class, all statutory 

certificates issued by GL become invalid. 

All full-term statutory certificates are issued exclusively by Germanischer Lloyd 

Head Office. Special regulations apply in rear cases only. 

Apart from the requirements of the international conventions, additional national 

rules and guidelines have to be observed for the majority of flag States. The 

authorizations in question are particularly marked. The list generally summarizes 

the scope of authorization, it does not, however, supply detailed information 

about the flag States' special requirements to be taken into account.

Der Germanische Lloyd ist von mehr als 120 schiffahrtbetreibenden Ländern als 

Klassifikationsgesellschaft anerkannt. 

Autorisierungen für umfassende, hoheitlich-rechtliche Aufgaben, wie 

Besichtigungen, Genehmigungen und Zertifizierungen wurden dem Germanischen 

Lloyd von den Flaggenstaatsbehörden der nachstehend aufgelisteten Staaten 

übertragen. Diese Autorisierungen basieren auf Bestimmungen, Regelungen und 

Anforderungen, festgesetzt durch die Internationale Konvention zum Schutz des 

menschlichen Lebens auf See, 1974, einschließlich Ergänzungen, die 

Internationale Freibordkonvention, 1966, einschließlich Ergänzungen und die 

Internationale Konvention zur Verhütung von Meeresverschmutzung, 1973/78, 

einschließlich Ergänzungen. Diese sind, in verschiedenem Maße, um andere 

internationale Dokumente, z.B. Codes und IMO Resolutionen, erweitert. Die 

nachfolgende Liste enthält eine Zusammenfassung der wichtigsten 

Autorisierungen. Für nicht aufgelistete Staaten oder nicht gekennzeichnete 

Besichtigungen und Zeugnisse werden, nach Anfrage bei der betreffenden 

Flaggenstaatsbehörde, Einzelfallautorisierungen beantragt und beschafft. 

Grundsätzlich gilt, dass die genannten hoheitlich-rechtlichen Aufgaben nur für GL 

klassifizierte Schiffe angewendet werden. Im Falle des Entzuges der Klasse des 

Schiffes, z.B. wenn technische Forderungen nicht den Klassenforderungen 

entsprechen, werden alle vom GL ausgestellten flaggenstaatlichen Zeugnisse 

ungültig. 

Alle flaggenstaatlichen Zeugnisse werden ausschließlich durch die 

Unternehmenszentrale des Germanischen Lloyd ausgestellt. Nur in ganz wenigen 

Ausnahmen sind Sonderregelungen zu beachten. 

Für die Mehrzahl der Flaggenstaaten sind über die Forderungen der 

internationalen Konventionen hinaus zusätzliche nationale Vorschriften und 

Richtlinien zu berücksichtigen und einzuhalten. Die davon betroffenen 

Autorisierungen sind in der Liste besonders gekennzeichnet. Die Liste gibt einen 

generellen Überblick über den Umfang der Autorisierungen, sie gibt keine 

detaillierte Auskunft darüber, welche speziellen Forderungen bei den einzelnen 

Flaggenstaaten zu berücksichtigen sind.
