ein bisschen Gestaltungsaffinität, denkt er gleich an Poesie. Der Vorstand hat eher eine
typografische Lösung mit Hölderlin-Gedichten erwartet. Für das Kunstmuseum Stuttgart
haben wir mit Sprache gearbeitet und dies typografisch umgesetzt. Die Kreissparkasse
hätte das auch gern gehabt. Dann kam die Überraschung, dass der Entwurf viel organi scher
war. Vögel und Bienen – um Gottes Willen! Der Vorstand hat jedoch schnell erkannt, dass
dieser Vorschlag mehr mit dem Ort und der Philosophie des Unternehmens zu tun hat als
die erwartete poetisch-sprachliche Umsetzung.
Gab es ein Highlight und einen kritischen Punkt im Projekt?
// Christof Teige Das Highlight für mich war die erste Vorstellung des Konzepts durch L2M3.
Kritische Momente gab es nicht wirklich. Beim Bauen gibt es kritischere Momente. Im Finish
passieren dann eher die schönen Dinge. Die kritischen Momente finden in der Phase
vorher statt.
// Sascha Lobe Ein nicht wirklich kritischer, aber spannender Moment kam nach der ersten
Präsentation, als wir gemerkt haben, dass wir den Baum zeichnen müssen. 22 Meter
Baum – und wenn ich die Nase dran halte, muss das einzelne Blatt immer noch gut aussehen.
Mit ein paar Tricks und ein bisschen Erfahrung haben wir es hinbekommen.
Highlight war dann auf jeden Fall das Abziehen der Schablonenfolie, als der ganze Baum
in Originalgröße auf dem Sichtbeton aufgebracht war. Man kann nie 100 % sicher sein,
auch wenn man in einer Ecke eine 1:1-Bemusterung macht. Erst in dem Moment, in dem
der Vorhang fällt – in diesem Fall die Schablonierungsfolie abgezogen wird –, weiß man,
ob es gut ist.

would have liked the same thing. And then we surprised them with a design that was
much more organic. Birds and bees – for God’s sake! But the board quickly realized that
the proposal had more to do with the location and the philosophy of the company than
the poetic, language-based proposal they had expected.
Was there a highlight and a critical point in the project?
// Christopf Teige Yes, for me the highlight was the first presentation of the L2M3 concept.
There weren’t really any critical moments. There were more critical moments during
construction. The nice things tend to happen towards the end of construction. The critical
things happen in the phase before construction.
// Sascha Lobe A moment that wasn’t really critical, but very exciting came after the first
presentation when we noticed we had to draw a tree, It was a 22-meter tree and every leaf
had to look good, even at nose length. We managed to do it with a couple of tricks and experience.
The highlight came when we peeled off the stencil paper and the whole life-size
tree was on the wall of architectural concrete. You can never be 100% sure even if you
create a 1:1 pattern in a corner. You only know if it is good when the curtains are drawn –
or the stencil paper is drawn in this case.
