New Devices Facilitating CoaXPress Applications
Richardson RFPD, Inc. announced the
availability and full design support capabilities
for a lineup of devices (link to
landing page) that enable CoaXPress
applications from MACOM Technology
Solutions Inc. CoaXPress is an asymmetric,
highspeed point-to-point serial communication
standard for the transmission
of video and still images. It is scalable
over single or multiple coaxial cables and
represents a leading-edge solution for
highspeed imaging and data transmission.
MACOM offers several devices that facilitate
CoaXPress applications, including:
Emerging Bluetooth
Platforms
• M22428G-23: 2.5 V Low-Jitter Cable
Driver for 6G
• M22544G-12: 2.5 V Multi-rate Adaptive
battery life. Utilizing a configurable Delta
Sigma architecture, a 10- or 18-bit modulator
enables system designers to tradeoff
step size, phase noise, and reference spurious
performance. The SKY72310-11 simplifies
transmitter design and is ideal for rugged
portable and mobile two-way radios used
in business as well as and mission-critical
applications. The SKY72310-11 comes in
MCM 24-pin, 4 x 4 mm package.
Power Transfer Evaluation
Board
Skyworks Solutions, Inc. announced that
its advanced connectivity engines are being
leveraged by Nordic Semiconductor for
ultra-low power wireless communications.
Specifically, Nordic is utilizing Skyworks’
family of fully-integrated front-end solutions
in conjunction with their multi-protocol
system-on-chip (SoC) for Bluetooth
Low Energy (LE) and emerging Bluetooth
5 applications. Together, the combined platform
provides superior efficiency – making it
ideal for battery-powered Internet of Things
(IoT) devices – while delivering a 4x range
advantage for connected home and outdoor
usage cases.
2.4 GHz Frontend Modules
for Bluetooth IoT
The new low power solutions from Skyworks
significantly improve range (more than 2x)
when compared to standalone system-onchip
(SoC) implementations, and efficiently
deliver more power to the antenna, thereby
minimizing or potentially eliminating any
required antenna matching network. The
new 2.4 GHz FEMs also integrate power
amplifier output matching, harmonic filtering,
and bypass path switching which
enable flexible and innovative end product
designs for space-constrained IoT applications.
Fractional-N Frequency
Synthesizer
Skyworks introduced the SKY72310-11,
a 50 MHz to 2.1 GHz fractional-N frequency
synthesizer for high-performance
Land Mobile Radio/Professional Mobile
Radio (LMR/PMR) systems. This synthesizer
is a key building block of a phaselocked
loop (PLL), providing ultra-fine
frequency resolution and low phase-noise
performance. Its low power consumption of
4 mA @ 3 V, 900 MHz provides extended
Richardson RFPD, Inc. announced the availability
and full design support capabilities
for an evaluation board for wireless power
transfer applications from GaN Systems
Inc. The GSWP050W-EVBPA evaluation
board is designed to support and expedite
the innovation of wireless power transfer
systems. The evaluation board uses GaN
Systems’ GS61004B E-HEMTs in a 50 W,
6.78 MHz class EF2 power amplifier. The
GSWP050W-EVBPA is the latest addition to
GaN Systems‘ WPT line-up. It is well-suited
for wireless power and charging applications
in consumer, industrial and automotive
markets, including items like power tools,
toys, professional microphones, handheld
point-of-sale devices and household robots.
Key features of the GSWP050W-EVBPA
include:
• Constant current mode
• Push-pull
• 100 V/45 A, 15 mOhm GaN E-HEMTs
• High speed GaN driver
