Installation of Cleanroom Facility for UK
Oscillator Production
Euroquartz has completed
installation of a new class
7 cleanroom facility at the
company’s Somerset headquarters.
This significant investment
is designed to ensure that the
company continues to play a
critical role in the UK manufacture
of oscillator products for
military and aerospace applications
and ensure UK defence
contractors can fulfil their
requirements for surface mount
device (SMD) oscillators.
The new cleanroom facility was
installed early in 2019 and is
currently being commissioned
with an expectation of adding a
new range of SMD oscillators
to its current range of throughhole
products before the end of
the year. Existing UK manufactured
products will also benefit
from the cleanroom environment
and the company anticipates
improved quality for its
UK production for the foreseeable
future.
Hi-Rel, Temperature
Conditioned RF Cable
Assemblies
Fairview Microwave, Inc. has
released a new series of high-reliability,
temperature conditioned RF
cable assemblies that are ideal for
military electronics, avionics, Satcom,
ECM, IFF and other mission
critical applications. Fairview’s
new low loss, pre-conditioned,
high-reliability cables cover operating
frequencies to 18 GHz and
deliver SWR as low as 1.35. This
product line is made up of 128 configurations
built from three different
types of cable, totaling more
than 1,400 parts all available with
same-day shipping. These cable
assemblies are constructed using
thermally pre-conditioned, tripleshielded
coaxial cable and captivated
stainless steel connectors, which
are then assembled using J-STD
soldering processes and WHMA-
A-620 workmanship criteria. The
combination of quality materials,
processes and acceptance testing
combines to make a highly reliable
cable assembly, ideal for applications
where the cost of failure is
high and performance over time
is paramount. These commercial
off-the-shelf (COTS) cables are
100% tested and come complete
with material lot traceability and
test reporting.
Application Note #84
ampwebwARe
As technology evolves, electronic
devices continue to take on a
more mobile and virtual nature.
While RF and microwave amplifiers
themselves may never become
truly ‘mobile’, the way we control
them can be. AR’s ampwebwARe
gives you the capability to monitor
and control your amplifier remotely
without needing any software
of your own. If the user switches
to ‘remote’, the front panel locks
and the user can control the amplifier
from an embedded webpage.
Through this webpage, you can
look at the power the amplifier is
generating, the hours of operation,
and manage all the controls remotely
that you would normally do
from the front panel of the amplifier.
ampwebwARe Features: Beginning
in 2019, AR will be embedding
ampwebwARe in all new amplifiers.
Once an amplifier is connected
to a network and an IP address is set,
any other device connected to that
network can access the amplifier’s
embedded webpage. The features
of this embedded webpage include:
• All Information Shown on One
Screen
• Simple User Interface
• Allows for Remote Diagnostics
• Monitor status from anywhere
• Multiple Simultaneous Browser
Connections
• Many Supported Web
Browsers
ampwebwARe Layout and Tables:
The data presented to the user is
categorized into various sets. Each
set of data is shown as a table with
its own header. Different amplifier
models will contain different sets
of data, depending on its complexity.
At a minimum, a webpage will
contain a monitor table and control
table. The monitor table will always
come before the control table. The
monitor table shows data which is
updated periodically. Above the
monitor table there is a time stamp
which indicates the last time that
the information in the table was
updated.
