Global Tower in the heart of the central banking district was a milestone in international
high-rise architecture. The building is now being comprehensively refurbished in line with
the business imperatives of tomorrow – and the tastes of aspirational international tenant
companies. The result will be a vibrant hub for work and meetings, quality of life, growth,
inspiration and communication.
The experienced, dynamic and tried-and-true team who already successfully completed
the MainTor development will ensure Global Tower’s transformation. Their efforts
will result in an office high-rise that is revamped and revitalized to the very highest
and latest standards – a building that will be repositioned as a jewel in the crown of

Das denkmalschutzwürdige Hochhaus erinnert in Form, Farbe und Materialität an
berühmte Gebäude wie das Seagram Building in New York, das Federal Center in
Chicago oder das Toronto Dominion Centre und gilt als Musterbeispiel für die Eleganz
und den reduzierten Stil der Architektur der Moderne.

Das Hochhaus, von 1974 bis 1997 Zentrale der Commerzbank, wurde vom Architekten
Richard Heil im Internationalen Stil realisiert und war einer der ersten Wolkenkratzer
Frankfurts sowie ein Pionier der Erfolgsgeschichte des Bankenviertels. Der zeitlose
Entwurf setzte sich in einem internationalen Wettbewerb, für den unter anderem auch
Ludwig Mies van der Rohe einen maßgeblichen Wettbewerbsbeitrag entwickelt hatte,
durch. Der Entwurf für das dazugehörige multifunktionale Global Forum stammt von
Sir Norman Foster, einem der weltweit bedeutendsten zeitgenössischen Architekten.
There are designs that radiate and reverberate far beyond the moment of their inception.
There are structures that shape the tastes and perceptions of many generations. In the
heart of Frankfurt’s central banking district, Global Tower is being revamped and reinvented
to create the perfect place to do business in the 21st century.
The form, color and materials of this protected high-rise are reminiscent of famous
structures such as the Seagram Building in New York, the Federal Center in Chicago and
the Toronto Dominion Centre. It is a prime example of the elegance and restrained style
of Modernism.
Architects Richard Heil were tasked with the design, which is in the International Style.
From 1974 to 1997, the building accommodated the headquarters of Commerzbank. It
was one of the very first skyscrapers to adorn the Frankfurt skyline, and was a trailblazer
in the city’s banking district. The timeless design emerged as the winner of an international
competition that featured an influential entry from Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
It also includes the multifunctional Global Forum that was the brainchild of Sir Norman
Foster, one of the world’s most important contemporary architects.

sondern zunehmend auch große, etablierte Unternehmen. Co-Working hat darum auch
im Global Tower einen hohen Stellenwert. Rund 9.200 Quadratmeter vom Erdgeschoss
bis zum 4. Obergeschoss, ein spektakuläres Konferenzzentrum im 1. OG sowie das
Global Forum werden vom Co-Working-Spezialisten SPACES betrieben.
2006 in Amsterdam gegründet, betreibt das Unternehmen heute weltweit rund 190
Co-Working-Center. Die Mission von SPACES ist es, ein Umfeld zu schaffen, an dem
Ideen geboren werden, sich Talente entfalten und wertvolle Beziehungen geknüpft
werden. Im Global Tower sind die Voraussetzungen dafür ideal: Die ausgezeichnete
Innenstadtlage, die herausragende Architektur und das flexible Flächenangebot bilden
eine inspirierende Plattform für alle, die in einem spannenden Umfeld viel bewegen
möchten. Potenziellen Nutzern werden in Zukunft rund 700 flexible Arbeitsplätze zur
Verfügung stehen, wobei neben Arbeitsplätzen im offenen Co-Working-Bereich auch
Einzelbüros und Teambüros geplant sind. Abgerundet wird das SPACES Angebot von
einem integrierten Businesscafé, in dem sich die Community trifft, austauscht,

A particular highlight is the large conference and event space that previously served
as a multi-functional auditorium. Located on the first floor above ground level, it was
comprehensively remodeled, modernized and renamed Global Forum. With capacity
for 500 people, it is available to rent, and is the largest publicly accessible event
venue in Frankfurt’s central banking district. Global Forum provides the ideal backdrop
for communicating, exchanging knowledge, and discussing opinions and ideas.
