conomics analyses the enterprise’s and household’s economic decision-making process,
macroeconomics describes aggregate demand and supply in real terms and in interaction
with the monetary sector. Business administration has to observe micro- and macroeconomics
in order to perform a successful management decision-making process. Also,
business administration operations are part of the micro- and macroeconomic processes
and have to be taken into account when assessing the impact of economic policies.
Specifically, participants are prepared:
» to study and analyse supply and demand in particular markets and to understand determinants
for equilibria in these markets and their implications for market participants
» to learn about economic optimization of households and firms
» to examine market failures and the impact of the public sector on the economy
» to analyse short-run fluctuations and long-run trends of production, employment, consumption,
saving and investment and foreign trade flows and to deduct business strategies
» to assess the impact of monetary and fiscal policy on short-run fluctuations and structural
and growth policies on long-run trends and to elaborate conclusions on all kinds of business
operations.
