Dear colleagues and friends of HOPPECKE,<br />
Maintain course! That was<br />
our motto for the continuing<br />
development of the company<br />
in 2005.<br />
Against a background of difficult<br />
trading conditions with severely<br />
increased raw material prices and<br />
a tough competitor situation, we<br />
have had a successful year.<br />
Our turnover has grown by ca 15%.<br />
We have increased our market share<br />
through developments which include<br />
the acquisition of new customers.<br />
HOPPECKE is now the largest European<br />
owned producer of industrial<br />
battery systems.<br />
With a minimum 40 hour week for<br />
all employees and six day working<br />
incorporating innovative working<br />
conditions in our manufacturing<br />
plants, we have established a solid<br />
foundation on which to strengthen<br />
our competitiveness.<br />
In addition we have further increased<br />
the number of our employees<br />
with the creation of 55 additional<br />
jobs spread across the company<br />

both nationally and internationally.<br />
We are proud of this.<br />
The coming year will be especially<br />
exciting for HOPPECKE. In the<br />
charger sector we and our sister<br />
company HOPPECKE Technologies<br />
will complete our first full trading<br />
year together, in Asia our manufacturing<br />
units will commence series<br />
production for the region’s markets<br />
and we will launch innovative new<br />
products and services in all sectors<br />
of our business.<br />
We in <strong>Hoppecke</strong> cannot satisfy<br />
everybody’s interest to their complete<br />
satisfaction by compromising<br />
down to even the smallest of issues.<br />
We live by clear objectives, disciplined<br />
behaviour and mutual confidence.<br />
We believe in the strengths<br />
of our company and have confidence<br />
in the desire and capabilities<br />
of our colleagues. Everybody in<br />
HOPPECKE is conscious of the fact<br />
that we can only continue to grow<br />
profitably when everyone is superior<br />
at his job than our competitors are<br />
at theirs. We will further develop our<br />
strengths.<br />
In 2006 we will initiate a companywide<br />
training drive. We will double<br />
our personnel development and<br />
training budget. In Germany alone<br />
we will school 30 young people and<br />
will support a further 30 with practical<br />
assistance at the start of their<br />
careers. We want to improve and<br />
develop every single employee as<br />
determined by at least one training<br />
measure in 2006.<br />
We know and will demonstrate that<br />
good prospects exist for family<br />
owned companies who are outward<br />
looking and who think and operate<br />
internationally.<br />
We would like to thank our customers<br />
for their confidence and<br />
for their fruitful and stimulating business<br />
relationships with us. We will<br />
continue to maintain our present<br />
course, following our objectivesdriven<br />
path. In this, we are pleased<br />
to have and are thankful for your<br />
trust in the people and performance<br />
of HOPPECKE.<br />
