Das BodyTel Center ist zentraler Bestandteil
des GlucoTel Systems und beinhaltet
das persönliche Online-Tagebuch und
alle Möglichkeiten der Konfiguration
und Administration (z. B. Freigabe zu
Einsicht des Online-Tagebuchs an Dritte,
Definition von Alarmregeln zur Benachrichtigung,
verschiedene Darstellungs-
und Auswertungsmöglichkeiten der
gespeicherten Messwerte, etc.).
The BodyTel Center is a central part of the
GlucoTel system and includes the personal
online diary and all the possible
configurations and administrations (e.g.
access to the online diary for a third party,
definition rules for alarm notification,
various display and analysis options of
the stored measurements, etc.).

Vertrauenspersonen entscheiden darüber,
ob und wie sie alarmiert werden möchten.
Das System richtet sich also nach den individuellen
Bedürfnissen und kann den
Betroffenen, Angehörigen sowie behandelnden
Ärzten den verantwortungsvollen
Umgang mit den Erkrankungen erheblich
erleichtern.
In order to control blood sugar levels more
easily and quickly in the future, and in
order to evaluate them better, the futureworkshop
T-City of Telekom in and around
Friedrichshafen offers doctors and patients
the diabetes management system
GlucoTel. The mobile innovative telemedicine
system is available in the framework
of a joint pilot project from Telekom
and BodyTel in T-City. GlucoTel is prima-

rily a blood glucose meter for measuring
blood glucose levels of the patient as usual.
At the same time it is part of the telemedical
blood glucose monitoring and
diabetes management system GlucoTel.
The meter transmits each measurement
via Bluetooth to a standard mobile phone,
which sends the result automatically by
Telekoms’ mobile network to the personal
online diary in the BodyTel Center at
www.bodytel.com. There, the results are
stored safely, long-term and clearly displayed.
Additionally, patients can enter information
such as recorded carbohydrate
units, additionally administered insulin or
other events – such as doctor visits, stress
and physical activity – per mobile phone
or online using the computer. It is important
to note that the web portal has the
same safety standards as online banking.
Automatic alarm
With the help of the transferred and entered
data, a long-term and complete
electronic health record is created in the
BodyTel Centre. Via a personal password
both the patient and authorized representatives
can enter the personal portal area.
There they can view their own data as well
as any data for which they have access.
If desired, critical value limits can be determined
and stored by doctors and other
caretakers in the BodyTel Centre for each
patient, which directly trigger an alarm by
e-mail, fax or SMS when exceeded. Once
alarm rules have been set, an automatic
comparison of the incoming value of the
defined target area takes place. In addition,
the alarm message can be sent automatically
to trusted third parties such as
relatives, family doctors or clinics specializing
in diabetics.
The patient decides to whom he wants to
allow access to his diary and he may waive
the right at any time. The entrusted third
parties authorized by the patient decide
whether and how they want to be alerted.
So the system is directed towards the individual
needs of the patient and can facilitate
the responsible handling of the
disease by the patient, the relatives and
the doctor.
