Prof. Dr. iur. Dr. rer. pol. Peter Sester<br />
Peter Sester studied law and took his Ph.D. in 1995 at the Ruprecht-<br />
Karls-University, Heidelberg. He habilitated in 2001 at the Philipps-<br />
University, Marburg. He also completed his studies in economics. He<br />
spent time as visiting scholar at the Universities of Cambridge,<br />
Montpellier, Aix-en-Provence and the London School of Economics.<br />
Since 2002 Prof. Sester holds the chair of Civil law, Commercial and<br />
Corporation law, German and international Economic law and<br />
Comparative law at the University of Karlsruhe. In 2003, he also has<br />
been appointed as a Honorary Professor at the Albert-Ludwigs-<br />
University, Freiburg. He is a Member of both the Faculties of<br />
informatics and economics at the University of Karlsruhe, and a<br />
member of the faculty of law at the Albert-Ludwigs-University,<br />
Freiburg. Prof. Sester’s main area of research is German and<br />
International Economic law. In terms of methodology, he pursues a<br />
comparative law and interdisciplinary approach. A main focus of his<br />
interest is European Business and Foreign Trade Law, information<br />
duties in public noted companies and capital markets’ law, and, in<br />
particular, issues of financing (project financing, private public<br />
partnership, instruments of refinancing such as asset backed<br />
securities and mortgage bonds and debentures).<br />
