University, Haifa and Singapore. In 2001, Prof. Dreier has also been
appointed as Honorary Professor at the Albert-Ludwigs-University
Freiburg; he also is a Member of the Faculty for Economics at the
University of Karlsruhe (TH). Prof. Dreier is a Vice president of both
the Association littéraire et artistique internationale (ALAI) and ALAI’s
German national group. Since 2005, he also chairs the Copyright
Committee of the German Association for the Protection of
Intellectual Property (Deutsche Vereinigung für gewerblichen
Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht, e.V. (GRUR)). Between 2001 and
2009, he also acts as managing Director of the German Computer
Law Association (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Recht und Informatik, e.
V., DGRI). Prof. Dreier has been advising the European Commission
and the German Government. He was a Member of the Advisory
Panel on Intellectual Property and of the Steering Committee on the
Mass Media (CDMM) of the Council of Europe (2001 – 2004) and of
the German Delegation at the Diplomatic Conference for the
Conclusion of an International Treaty on the Protection of Integrated
Circuits. Prof. Dreier is a co-editor of the new open access online
journal “Journal of Intellectual Property, Information Technology and
E-Commerce Law (JIPITEC)” (launching date: March 2010) and of the
German English language legal periodical „Computer und Recht
International (CRi)“. He also is a Member of the editorial boards of the
legal periodicals „Computer und Recht“ (Germany), „Computer Law
and Security Review (CLSR)“ (UK), „Propriétés intellectuelles“
(France). He also co-edits the book series „Information und Recht“
and the „Karlsruher Schriften zum Wettbewerbs- und
