Pastorale und soziale Aufgaben
„Ganz besondere Aufmerksamkeit soll man der Aufnahme von Armen und Pilgern schenken,
denn in ihnen wird mehr als in anderen Christus aufgenommen.“ (Benediktsregel, Kap. 53, 15)

Pilgerseelsorge
Seit 2000 betreut unsere Sr. Hiltrud die Wallfahrer aus aller Welt, die zum Schrein der heiligen
Hildegard in die Pfarr- und Wallfahrtskirche in Eibingen pilgern. Sie hält dort Vorträge über Leben
und Werk der heiligen Hildegard, hält Andachten und ist auch sonst für alle kleinen und
großen Nöte der Pilger da. Jeden Mittwoch um 15.00 Uhr gestaltet sie eine vielbesuchte Hildegard-Meditation
und vermittelt so das große geistliche, theologische, musikalische und naturheilkundliche
Erbe unserer Klostergründerin an die Menschen unserer Zeit.
Militärseelsorge
Seit 2002 gehört die seelsorgliche Begleitung der Militärseelsorger der Bundeswehr zu unseren
besonderen Aufgaben. Einzeln und in Gruppen kommen die Militärseelsorger – vor allem
nach ihren Auslandseinsätzen – in unser Gästehaus, um sich innerlich neu auszurichten und
im Gespräch neue Orientierung für ihren Alltag zu finden.
Flüchtlingshilfe
Seit 2016 bewohnt eine Flüchtlingsfamilie aus Syrien unser Weinbergshaus „Emmaus“, das
wir für sie umgebaut und eingerichtet haben. Wir fühlen uns bewegt und aufgerüttelt vom
Schicksal dieser Menschen. Unsere Sr. Petra kümmert sich um unsere neuen Gäste. Die Begegnung
mit ihnen bereichert aber unser aller Leben.

The Pastoral Care of Pilgrims
In the year 2000 our Sr Hiltrud started looking after pilgrims from all over the world who
come to see the shrine of St Hildegard in the pilgrimage church which is also the parish
church in the village of Eibingen. There she gives lectures on the life and work of St Hildegard,
leads the prayers and sees to all the needs of pilgrims, be they great or small. Every
Wednesday at 3 p.m. she holds a meditation based on St Hildegard texts which many
pilgrims attend. Thus the great spiritual, theological, musical and natural healing heritage
of the founder abbess of our community gets translated to the people of today.
The Pastoral Care of Army Chaplains
Since 2002 the pastoral care of army chaplains has been one of our special tasks. They
arrive individually or in groups, particularly after their deployment abroad. In talking
they hope to find a renewed inner strength and orientation for their everyday life.
The Care of Refugees
Since 2016 a refugee family of six from Syria has been living in our cottage called “Emmaus”,
which we have converted and furnished for them. It is situated in the vineyard
below the abbey. We feel moved and stirred up into action by the fate of these
people. Our Sr Petra looks after our new guests. Encountering them has enriched the
lives of all of us.
